We need to think of it as a trade separate from the Hayward situation. If another team was offering Crowder for a draft pick I'd hope Utah would take it. So what if it's Boston? Get it done.

Jazz will make this happen. They know the fan base feels stabbed in the back again as every one we train to be awesome leaves. Crowder and his salary is the best situation oppportunity the Jazz have to lick some wounds and even rub some antibiotic cream on it too. BOS needs to clear salary to sign Hayward but really has no incentive (as far as I can tell) to include Crowder in a S&T as he certainly has value to other teams. Only way it happens is if it's to appease Hayward.

Otherwise, I'm not sure it makes sense to use assets on him as it likely only helps us tread water in the competitive WC & would burn some of our limited assets. We've been backed into a bit of a corner so getting Crowder in a S&T would be huge (whether we retain/flip him). We need all the assets we can get moving forward, regardless of our future approach to roster construction.

Crowder is one of the most overrated players in the league right now. With that said he's still probably an OK starter we can use right now if we are going to compete for playoffs and he's still on a great contract for 3 more years.

Last season he had a TS% of 61.3% including 54% from 2 and 39.8% from 3. That's almost off the charts and given how great our staff is developmentally, I see no reason he can't replicate that or even slightly improve upon it. He's never gonna wow anyone offensively but he has averaged more than 14 a game for three straight seasons and with Rubio here, I see no reason that won't carry over, and quite frankly we could use a consistent 14-16 a game from someone.

My main issue is, having given up the OKC 1st already, I really do not want to give up our own 1st next year, unless it is fairly heavily protected. Maybe top 18. Then top 16 in 2019. Then lottery in 2020. Or something like that. But given who we lost and the potential for how bad we could be, I am not giving up that 1st without solid protections.

I agree. I don't know about the league-wide consensus, but Crowder is definitely underrated by the Celtic fanbase

I wouldn't be giving up any of our own first round picks unless they are massively protected. I wouldn't be giving any of our youth(Hood, Exum, Mitchell). Having in mind we might lose Favors next year, people have suggested a convoluted way of trading Favors for Crowder+other stuff to make it work, but it gets complicated real fast...

Absolutely. Our own picks just got much more valuable. We are one Rudy Gobert injury away from being legit bad. You don't give up a 1st without massive protections on it.
