Crowder had a really good year last year and still has three years left at <8M per. He's a tough and versatile defender and flexible positionally which we shouldn't discount. Last season he had a TS% of 61.3% including 54% from 2 and 39.8% from 3. That's almost off the charts and given how great our staff is developmentally, I see no reason he can't replicate that or even slightly improve upon it. He's never gonna wow anyone offensively but he has averaged more than 14 a game for three straight seasons and with Rubio here, I see no reason that won't carry over, and quite frankly we could use a consistent 14-16 a game from someone.
My main issue is, having given up the OKC 1st already, I really do not want to give up our own 1st next year, unless it is fairly heavily protected. Maybe top 18. Then top 16 in 2019. Then lottery in 2020. Or something like that. But given who we lost and the potential for how bad we could be, I am not giving up that 1st without solid protections.
