What's new

NBA Free Agency Moves in General (related to the Jazz, but not just moves made by the Jazz)

Jingles will probably start. I would just prefer Mitchell even though he's a rookie. He'll have ups and downs but it's not like we're likely to go to deep into the playoffs anyway. Play the youth and let's see what they got is my approach.

I hope you were advocating for this with Exum the last few years....

Exum shot 24% but doesn't do the good things Roberson does. Instead he picks up 2 fouls in 2 possessions.

I'm not advocating for anyone in particular to start over Ingles, and don't mind if he starts. I just don't think its a guarantee that he starts, just because of his contract. Infact, had the Jazz retained Hayward, there is a good chance that Hood starts at SG, and Ingles comes off the bench. I personally wouldn't mind him starting now, other than if Hood started at SF, that likely gives more minutes to Mitchell and Exum.

He's also a wing that shoots 24% on 3 point shots last year and 26 % in his career. He may start for his team, but he is a role player. There will always be more of a premium on scoring. We'll see if he continues to start with PG on board, or if he backs him up. Ingles may end up starting, but whether he starts or comes off the bench, his role will be the same.

Allen Crabbe makes 17 million a year and comes off the bench for Portland... Same with Turner.
Different cap situations last 2 years....

Now is new time

Is it just me or has Boston looked terrible on the negotiation front this offseason? Butler fell through, George, the S&T, rumors about flipping the 3rd pick didn't develop...

I thought Jingles got paid to be Haywoods comic sidekick, starter or off the bench didn't matter.

It will be interesting to see how the jazz play this out. I think Quin preferred Joe as he starting sg with Haywood. Does Hood slide into Haywood's spot at sf? Can he guard sf?

Or does Jingles and hood split the sf minutes while Burks and Mitchel split the sg minutes. It's not fabulous, but it has some possibilities IF Burks and Hood can stay healthy.

Nevermind.

Looks like we're at this point now.

Jingles and Hood will both start, I think. If they're playing against a power wing, that'll be Joe's assignment.
