What's new

Respect to Robyn Hayward's incredibly tough journey. Strongest NBA wife in the world.

Hayward is a jerk cause there is nothing the Jazz could have done to keep him because of his lover. Whats the point of having a draft?

George did not demand a trade. Or if he did he had no power to demand it.
He made it clear he was not signing on again. It gave their FO a chance to get something for him and a year extra to plan.

I'm pissed cause I watched his buddy Shelvin Big Mack play last year so we were 'competitive'.

Hayward seems like a clueless chap. If he spent less time playing his video games and smelt the roses he would have better anticipated the hurt he has caused and the blowback for his pissweak players tribune piece.

Look, Pacers(my main team) and Jazz suffer the same issue. NBA does not help small market teams. I respectfully disagree on PG, becasue he publicly said he was out Pacers got 0 leverage. Now, if he privately gave the Pacers a heads up, that would have been cool. BUT HE DIDN'T. As a result the trade for PG was utter garbage.

Every post I make I get negged "get oit" etc because I am a Pacer fan by market and a Hayward fan by player.

Trust me I get it.

I'll even give the fan base another nugget I have seen no one mention.

It is my beleif, that if Hayward was drafted by any other team, any other team, he would not even be in the NBA right now.

The NBA should ad the number of years to the rookie contract that they skip college. Hayward came in more than raw and the Jazz coddled him. Turned out well...BUT IT TOOK TIME. Hayward works his *** of but not a natural talent.

That is the part of the equation I actually wish Hayward considered and stayed in Utah. But again, he is a big boy and make a decision.
I personally think he will regret it and he will learn.

I was Happy to hear DL said his wife is actually very close to Robyn and the kids and they plan to keep that....

I saw a picture of Hayward getting his haircut in Boston. The haircut he got in Utah was way better. The one the dude in Boston gave him accentuated his receding hairline.

There is a difference between mocking and attacking. Most of this was just harmless mocking, some of it did go too far.

ijazz, are you really Hayward, or a relative? You seem pretty current and informed as to exactly what Hayward has done and gone through, etc.

Anyways, this will continue to go on for a bit, then die down. People will have hurt feelings for the way Hayward left, in that it reaks of dishonesty and that it appears that it was going to happen for quite a while now. This is based on the chatter and data points that came to light after the fact. Where there is smoke there is fire.

I don't think a single Jazz fan would complain about the work Hayward put in. He definitely gave his all and improved greatly over the 7 years he was here.

Even the Jazz fans that are very down on Hayward now deep down would wish him well as a person wherever he is, but that is overshadowed now by how it all went down.

A clean break would have been better. Straight up honesty is always better than trying to soften the blow.

Are you that Stupid.

I'm in the Indiana Market, Pacer fan for over 20 years.

PG just set the Pacers back 3 years.

PG did not honor his CONTRACT, Hayward did. As a matter of fact, Hayward gave us his best year his last year getting us to Round 2.

If GH did what PG did last summer, 1 week saying Pacer for life, followed by demanded a trade with 1 year left STATING he only wants to play in LA so it's a 1 year rental, Jazz do not even make the playoffs last year.

I have been a Jazz fan following Hayward for the 7 years he has been here. I have watched EVERY game, listed to 75% of Locke daily so I get the passion.

I do not get the lack of respect for a kid wanting a change in his life. He owes no one a reason. no one.

Do the Jazz FO ask a player before they release or trade him ? No

Move on, you have gobert (at least for 4 years).
Finally I understand why your posts suck so bad. You are a pacers fan and a Hayward fan rather than a jazzfan. It all makes sense now

So it's ok to be angry at PG, but Jazz fans should just move on. How did PG not honor his contract?

at the risk of speaking for him, I think he's saying because PG said he wanted out and wanted traded, that he did not honor his contract.
Hayward worked hard to the end of his contract.

That's what he is saying.

There is another angle though. PG was honest in stating he wanted out, but Hayward did not.

It's just different angles, and a muddled mess. Both can be right and wrong. Life is not as linear or black and white as people often think.

Both are valid views imo.

I'd guess Hayward has had a slow burn for Boston since he was a Bird fan growing up in Indiana and the flame was just turned up when Stevens became their coach. Problem is, Hayward is so circumspect, so non-confrontational, that he was unable to express himself truthfully to Jazz management when it counted most. Non-controntational people often master little white lies, to others and even to themselves, in order to avoid uncomfortable encounters. A clean and decisive break doesn’t fit at all with Hayward’s non-confrontational personality, which seems so deeply ingrained it borders on clinical, when it can be diagnosed as “Avoidant Personality Disorder.” Most people with this glide through life sheltered and without treatment because they’re constantly being told how nice and accommodating they are, but when decisive action is called for they’re not equipped to answer the bell. Unfortunately, the consequences played out very publicly at a pivotable time for the Jazz.

Excellent post. In shorter terms, Benedict is a bitch.

PG screwed the Pacers by
1. Going public
2. Stating he will go to Lakers when he is a UFA
3. This forced trade for PG for almost nothing

Objectively speaking the only thing I think GH did wrong. And it was bad. Was not owning the leak on the 4th. Obviously none of us really know but it seems he wasted 5 hours for all

It's different because the Pacers is a trash team with trash fans. It doesn't matter if PG screwed them or not. So, when are you ****ing off?
