I know we dont have anywhere near enough threads about CJ so I figured I better get another one going. Not to mention the fact that we haven't had enough polls so here you go.

Who thinks we should keep CJ. And why?


(to clarify because what you can put in the lines for the polls are limited in space, just assume that any option involving keeping him assumes we take the extension)

Sounds like our "plan" with AK this summer too.

I'm not opposed to re-signing him, but only so long as (1) he does not start, (2) he is not counted on to be a primary scorer, (3) he does not take minutes away from Hayward or whatever other rookie or veteran wing we might get at the #6 (give or take) pick, and (4) Corbin does not feel obligated to give him playing time if he doesn't earn it. He will come cheap, and he can at times be a difference maker. As long as he's not THE MAN (whether in team structure or in his own mind), then it might work.

given the likelihood that we aren't headed anywhere next season, it isn't a terrible idea to bring CJ back and let him play the first 20-30 games. I don't think it is out of the question form him to look mostly good for that stretch and get us more value on the trade market as a result. If he could land us a 17-20th pick next year I'd be ****ing stoked.

I really don't want him taking shots away from our young core, it will just stunt their development. At the same time we do need a bench, so pick up the option and move him for something else if possible.
