Utah Interested in Signing Eric Griffin

He wants to do Vivint endorsements.

That would be awesome!

It would be pretty incredible if he ended up playing here. For those who don't know, he was imprisoned for a week and wrongfully accused of murder. His mother's Vivint Smart Home system was what proved he was innocent.

I think I'm more intrigued by Poythress but I wouldn't be opposed to Griffin either. Poythress seems more athletic with more upside, but I don't know if anyone here knows his actual contract situation atm.

Was someone murdered in his mom's home and there was video that showed he did not do it or was there video simply showing he was home while the murder occurred elsewhere?

For this to make any sense, it would have to be a contract that pays him a bit this year and then have a couple seasons with team options with maybe a small guarantee for the 2nd season.

Not sure Poythress is more athletic.

Ya, I don't know my knowledge is limited on either of them. Just judging by the highlights I've seen Poythress has some good speed and his vert is 37 compared to Griffin at 29. Poythress also has a max vert of 41, which is pretty impressive. Griffins vert was recorded 5 years ago though, and he didn't see to struggle getting up in the air during summer league, so I don't know. I'm more intrigued because Poythress is younger and bigger, but it isn't like I've seen much of either of these guys.

I'd give him two years at the minimum guaranteed with two additional team option years.

Yes. He's a decent shooter. I think he could be similar to JaMychal Green.

Could be a good move, some athleticism at the four off the bench would be a good option. DL also needs to find a decent 5 to back up Rudy and take a bit of the burden off him down the stretch, I reckon Bogut would be awesome.

Poythress is such a passive presence on the court though, especially compared to Griffin.

It would probably be a fully guaranteed contract for 1 year, with partial guarantees in the 2nd and 3rd years.
