I never thing the Jazz. Never.
I am a Jazz fan from china.
Do you thing the jazz
Absolutely. But who they can pick isn't as important as accumulating assets. IMO, Jeremy Lin for $8.3 million cap/$15 million cash on an expiring contract and a lottery protected 1st and 2nd round pick (plus being a good stopgap fit for Quin Snyder) is a lot more palatable than $7 million over two seasons for Steve Novak (to sit at the end of the bench and not contribute all season long.)
The value was not just in the asset acquired, but the value of the player coming in (Lin may be maligned and overpaid, but he's smart and a good fit for QS). Plus there's the financial gain in acquiring a highly popular player for nothing more than taking on a bloated one-year contract.
Exum and Burke doe.
Yep. And with Burke's struggles along with Exum's rawness, I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that Quin Snyder could have started Lin, and brought both Exum and Burke in off the bench and focused on developing both of our young point guards. It would have only been for one year, with the likelihood of him leaving as a UFA in 2015/16.
I don't think it would have hurt either guy if both were getting less minutes to come in off the bench. I still think that Lin would fit in well. If I could somehow talk the Lakers into taking back Novak's contract, I'd trade him and Clark and 2nd round picks for Lin right now - no hesitation. I think that taking the starting pressure off Burke would help his development, but I don't think moving Dante into the starting lineup is the right answer either.
[dated 1/6/15] How low is Lin's stock right now? How low is Rubio's?
I'd buy either at the right price.
your wish shall be granted.
When I saw the post I got excited and then realized in was from years ago.
