Question - Who do you pick if the Jazz get the #1 pick?

With the #1 pick, the Utah Jazz pick:

  • Kyrie Irving

    Votes: 29 59.2%
  • Derrick Williams

    Votes: 20 40.8%

i would pick irving or enes, williams doesnt have as much as potential as those two. And we need a pg more badly than a SF. If we pick williams, we cant go anywhere with harris, but if we pick irving we can trade harris, and can keep kirilenko if we want to. I think williams will not be anywhere better than Josh Smith but Irving can be as good as Chirs paul

If we pick Williams I would resign and start Watson at PG - he did more than an adequate job this season. We would have Hayward to do a lot of the playmaking (see Jazz's last game VS Lakers as reference). We can then simply trade Harris for some other pieces or draft picks. I think we can use Watson in a similar role Lakers uses Fisher - an experience & stable hand at PG.

PG - Watson
SG - Hayward
SF - Williams
PF - Favors
C - Jefferson

To me that's a really strong line up with Millsap backing up the bigs and Miles backing up the wings.

i really dont think watson can start in any nba team. He is a very good backup but not a starter.

wouldnt u prefer this line up,

irving
hayward
kirilenko (lets say leonard if u dont like ak)
favors
jefferson

i think this would be much better

I would pick Irving simply because the Jazz already have enough PFs. I am not certain that Williams can play the SF.

I'd take Irving. I was not impressed watching Williams just float through large segments of games.

I'm not sure how Irving would fit with the Jazz system, but if the jazz go to a two gaurd front, they could let Hayward be the facilitator. Then the jazz could run all thier cuts and screens for 20 seconds, and flip it to Irving to score it as the shot clock expires.

Also, there was a reason that the Jazz were able to sign Watson to a one year vetran minimum to play behind an established star last year. He is not an NBA starter.

So let me get this straight, everyone's dying to get rid of Millsap - one of the most productive players on the team and by far the most efficient and consistent (really not close at all) - because he's labeled a tweener, and most people here would draft a tweener with the #1 pick?

No.. no more Kirilenko for me. Thanks, but no thanks.

With Hayward showing what he could do in terms of facilitating - I think having Irving there is a bit redundant.

Also I think it will be easier for Williams to move to SF (ala Beasley) than Millsap given that he's already knocking down 3's and just the way he moves.

I am not dying to get rid of Sap. I don't want to see him play the 3 either. I want Sap to be our sixth man. But he is also an attractive trade piece.

I think we do what YB said and shop that pick and any of our other assets to see what we can get.
