I'm high on Dante as a player, but I just get the feeling that the organization is divided (at best) about his value. If they were really committed to making him the PGOTF then I would be very confident in him developing into a really dangerous player. This year is going to be very telling.

I can see tleikheen having a meltdown when Donovan Mitchell ends up being better than Dante Exum.

I'm optimistic about Exum having a break-out season with steady playing time in the 20-minute range. He can get by people all he wants. He just needs to stay under control and finish the plays.

That said, Mitchell sure looks like he's going to be a better player than Exum.

Exum and Mitchell could be a good two-way backcourt duo in the near future.

Going to be real curious to see what role Mitchell fits into and whether his height has any particular impact or limit to his potential.

I think ,MT head ,will realize Mitchell is a tweener ,too short for 2 guard and not ready for playing PG which he hasn't played much. He will be good though, just might need some time to adapt to playing against taller NBA players.

I dont think DM being 6'3 is an issue. Avery Bradley is only 6'2 and really effective in this league, Jrue Holiday is 6'3. ****, D.Wade is only 6'4 and one of the best to do it.

He measures off the scale in areas and has all the intangibles to succeed at SG.

Ray Allen wasn't that tall either

Yes, the sport is still basketball and being shorter will always limit your potential.

Simply not true. You don't touch the ball with your head. Draymond Green would lose mobility if he was a 7 footer, and because he's naturally strong as an ox and has really long arms, he is perfectly physically suited for what he does on the floor.

I don't see how two inches of Dwyane Wade's skull height would have made him better.

The best attributes come from your legs and how long your arms are. Height itself can be an impediment.

Change that word to "usually" and I agree.

I wish Dante was actually a bit shorter. He moves weird and I think the height works against him with how he moves. I was probably in denial about that until I saw the first summer league game this year and noticed just how different Mitchell moves. Dante's got a weird stiffness to him.

Obviously there is some limit.

If Draymond Green was 2 inches taller he'd have a higher ceiling.

I think that's just the way he moves. It wouldn't matter if he was 6'2, he'd still move that way. Unless you have marfan syndrome or some other kind of rare growth disease, I don't think you can outgrow your body (if that makes sense).

And I assumed when someone said taller, they applied that growth to their entire body to how their proportions currently are, not just the top of their head. If not, we could assume the growth takes place anywhere, like 2 inch longer legs which result in much longer stride, or two inches longer in the torso, which could negatively affect center of gravity.
