Derrick Favors named to All-Rookie second team

Hayward > George

the jury is still out on that one for anybody without homer goggles. George can defend three positions, has range beyond NBA three, and has shot-creating skills. The only edge that Hayward has in PG skills (and perhaps a more accurate shot).

George's defense and Hayward's late bloom this year merit George's selection over Hayward, IMO

George had a better overall season. The hype Hayward gets here one would think he is the 2nd coming of Larry Bird.

So would you ever consider playing Hayward at pg?

I agree with George being on the second team the one that I would have put Hayward in for would have been Johnson. Were Hayward got better as the season went on getting to the point were he showed he has the talent to be a good player in this league. Johnson did the opposite. Played ok a the start and then good in December. But fell off hard the second half the season. Johnson was given a lot of playing time right out of the gate also. Were Hay didn't start getting good time on the floor until after the trade. I would still rather have Gordon over Johnson at this point though.

The other guy that got shafted that turned it on late but well be a great player and could be a starter for years to come is Jordan Crawford. I think I might have put him in over Hay, Johnson, and maybe even George.

that's why I've been dreaming of scenarios to acquire George... because he could guard the opposing PG while Hay played a PG role on offense. We'd be f'ing huge in that scenario.

I still think we should have drafted George... Now I'll wait for somebody to post the Hayward dunk on him that will prove that I'm wrong to think that.. Somehow.

Right now I think ether or on the Hayward/George pick. Kinda like the Deron/CP3 thing all over again. I feel that both players are going to be good. Hard to say that I would want one over the other right now. That could change in the next couple of years depending how both develop.

12 posts and no one shout out on favors accomplishment, just bent over hayward getting shafted. Smh. Soooo.... Congrats Derrick on the first of many accomplishments! Cant wait to watch this guy develop.

Dang why can't the season start already!

Congrats to Favors! A reason for optimism for the future. As for Hayward, I don't see how he could have been included on team. He did not get consistent playing time until the end of the year, when he performed well, but he was a cypher for most of the year.

I expect next year to be quite different, though, when Hayward will hopefully distinguish himself with the playing time and confidence. We'll see, though, but I'm optimistic.

I would have liked to see him play more with Atlanta. Who knows what you're actually seeing with that Washington team (who pwned the Jazz late). A lot of impressive stat numbers and dunks, but I always leave feeling like I've just experienced B-Russ's new gig (Ball Up). 39% fg and he still gets 16 per?

Washington looks like a bunch of over-athletic court warriors but they don't win ****.

I think Atlanta jumped the gun on Crawford especially if Jamal Crawford leaves during FA. And Washington will be a pretty fun and upcoming team for years to come.
