Resigning Boozer Jazz's top priority

I think KOC is just looking for a fat nice trade exception for Boozer and future 1st. None of the teams targeting Boozer have any pieces we need or at least are willing to give up:

NJ: Lopez and Favors no chance
Chicago: Absolutely no one we want
NY: Lee, but he plays Milsap's position and too expensive
Miami: Beasley, slight interest given he still has upside

There's not going to be a sign-and-trade. We will have to take back salary that, in the end, we will not be okay with. Also, we won't seek much value for Boozer (I said much value, not equal value, so spare me the lecture on how I think we're going to trade him for a franchise player) as our front office is rather defeatist in our expectations or attitude.

One of two things will happen:

1) Boozer signs outright with another team.
2) As the summer winds down and no team offers Boozer a big enough deal, we will either sign him for a somewhat reduced price or less years to the contract (but not both).

And you will hear the following responses, respectively:

1) We tried numerous ways trying to work things out but at the end of the day a deal was not able to be finalized. When dealing with a sign-and-trade, there are 3 parties that must come to agreement.
2) We feel we have a great, young core that will only improve as the team continues to play together and gain experience, on top of having a new, young lottery pick that led his team to the national championship.

We will bring Collins into training camp. "He's a big body who knows the system and is a tenacious defender who does not shy away from contact."

Ya Aldrich... you may not remember but we had a tremendous length problem... hell Whiteside wouldn't have sucked... he doesn't need to play much just guard Gasol.

You REALLY think Whiteside can guard Gasol?? You wanted them to pick him @ 9 When he went where in the draft? You're such a joker....you.

He is nothing. Fes is 3 inches taller and 60 pounds heavier than Aldrich, and probably faster too. You will see how small Aldrich is once they put him next to real NBA centers. Of course ALdrich might upgrade to 3 inch platforms or high heels to close the difference.

I would guess that Aldrich knows positional defense better than Fes. I'm pretty damn sure Fes doesn't even know what that means.

Aldrich is already a better rebounder than Fes. I guarantee that.

With that said our best option is to S&T Boozer or let him go. We need some turnover in the PF/C position because what we got isn't working like it should.

I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall in KoC's office during his talks with Boozer & his agent. Do NOT want him back; obviously a S & T would be great... I follow the Magic too. Definitely like Courtney Lee; he was a teammate of our 2nd rounder, Jeremy Evans. Solid all-round BB player, in the mold of Wes Matthews.

You follow the Magic and you do not know that Courtney Lee got traded to the Nets in the Vince Carter trade.

Maybe he just meant he was a fan of Lee while he was with Orlando. There have been rumors about S&T with Lee's current team, the Nets. I'm probably giving him to much credit.

KOC has to keep the PR spin positive with Boozer no matter how they feel about him. Even if they don't want him Jazz have to get his approval for any S&T that might come along. Also if Boozer doesn't get an offer he likes, Jazz need to keep the door open to resigning him. Many reasons to publicly say Jazz really want Boozer back.

Nope. No PR spin, no posturing, no positioning, no prepping, Kevin O'Connor is just flat out incompetent. The man has indelibly proved that for 11 years running and yet there are still people trying to find excuses for him. Incredible to me how much people will take before they say enough is enough.

Whiteside needs to put on weight and get lower and play position defense, but yes, he can disrupt Paul Gasol better than anyone we have aside from Fess. Whiteside went in the draft where he did because he and his agent wouldn't have him work out for any team outside the lottery. It was a bad move. When the late lotto teams picked the wings and PFs, no one really had a read on Whiteside except for the horrible press he was getting. Sacramento, who had worked him out head-to-head with Udoh and Monroe, snapped him up in the 2nd round and is now very happy that they did. Good luck getting Sacto to trade Whiteside.

NY: Wilson Chandler, Gallinari, Toney Douglas, TPE, futures Rds ( the best option? )
Miami: Beasley, TPE or futures Rds

Most important of that is start 2011-2012 with 40 or 50 Millions $ payroll ( and Okur 10,890 expiring ) and young, NEW and good team ( ?¿?¿ ):

DWill
C.J.Miles
Matthews
G. Hayward
P. Milsap
Ante Tomic
Maybe Fesenko... 3M$
Maybe Kirilenko... 8M$
Memphis Pick
Utah Pick
And players or assets of the sign and trade of Boozer... ( maybe Gibson or Wilson Chandler or future rounds )

KOC> TGBE

Please explain to me why you feel he has been incompetent for 11 years?

The idea that anyone available at #9 in the draft would help us with the Lakers length is laughable. Cousins would've been the only player that could make an impact right away, and thats still a maybe.

I'm sure getting the Boozer situation squared away is their top priority and it better be. Either signing him or addressing our length problem with a S&T is a must this summer, and I hope to god it happens.

I liked Millsap's performance against the Lakers, he went in with no fear. He did get bothered a lot but he never stopped attacking, where as Boozer pretty much folded.

A S&T with Boozer for a real center and a backup PF would be my dream summer scenario. I hope KOC and the Jazz can make it happen.
