I feel awful for hayward....that leg break...

Seriously, debating about what happened with free agency when an athlete goes down like this seems petty. Regardless, what you think of his free agency decision show a little compassion for a fellow human being. Don't be like that jerk Skip Bayless who has proven again how big of a jerk he is.

I hope Hayward fully recovers and we get an opportunity to play against him and the Celtics. I hope this doesn't end his career because despite everything I enjoy seeing him play.

He’ll be alright. His career may not be but I’m sure they gave him some good ole morphine. He’s paid millions, and he will probably live a long life on this earth. Let’s not act like Hayward’s life is in critical condition here.. which seems like a lot of people are doing! At the end of the day Gordon is getting paid, regardless!

This is a dumb post.

With some of the comments on here are making me ashamed of being a jazz fan.

That injury was horrific and I don't care what Hayward did he didn't deserve that.

I agree that I feel nothing for Celtics fans but Hayward and his family get my condolences.

I told my gf I hoped he got injured this year last night completely tongue-in-cheek (I have a dark sense of humor) and now I feel absolutely terrible. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, really. I hope it's not too bad. Dude had to get flighted to another hospital.

Looks like you got your wish, buddy. Don’t be out here judging people.

I doubt they gave him a cat scan or mri, only xray, they wont know for sure until hes opened up probably here tonight. I guarantee you he has damage to his connective tissues

He fumbled the release of the article, but other than that, I don't see his exit as douchey.

We weren't going to be happy unless he signed on the Jazz.

He turned his back on his teammates, and in his dumb little article, he mentions Jeremy freaking Evans and none of his current teammates, right? Yeah, it was more than just fumbling the release of the article.

None of that matters now though. Utah is going to be just fine without him and won't be paying him 30 million to rehab for the next year. The injury sucked, but better him than a Jazz player.

My guy right here. Don’t speak the truth people out here think Hayward got shot. He’s still getting like 800,000 dollars a day to walk on crutches.

I feel bad for Hayward. Wasn't really too torn up by how he left, so I'm not feeling the whole vindictive karma thing. That injury was awful. One of the worst I've ever seen. Hopefully, he makes a full recovery. Also hope the Jazz players and front office have nothing but classy things to say right now.

A lot of virtue signalling in this thread. Since he left I don't feel any empathy for him. He broke his foot - I don't feel a thing about that and don't want to see the footage at all. Some people just don't understand that 99.9% of the population would give a lot to be in his place right now so let's not make a huge deal out of it. It's a bad break for the Celtics and their fans and **** them. It's a bad break for Hayward and I don't feel any different about it to when it happened to Paul George. It had zero impact on my life and zero impact on the Jazz.

I feel as sorry for Hayward as he did for Dante before tonight.

In other words, he's not a Jazz player any more, didn't care one iota about his former teammates when he left - didn't mention them, didn't thank them. So I don't feel one bit of sympathy for him. Cold? Yes. But what goes around, comes around.

And in terms of gruesomeness, there have been a ton of similar or worse across many sports. He'll have $128M in the bank (well, the after tax amount) while I'm worrying about my next paycheck after the end of this month. So no, I don't feel sorry for him.

It was merely a joke, dude before a freak accident.

Look, Hayward does make millions. It doesn't change the fact that he may never play something he obviously loves again. That's why I feel bad for him.

Brad Stevens just said he broke his tibia and fractured his ankle. I got hit by a car on June 3rd and I broke my ankle and my tibia and I'm just barely walking. It's gonna be a long hard grind for Gordon to get back to playing. He is facing a lot of physical therapy, I pitty the guy.

So did anyone outside of your family and friends pity you? Is Hayward a better person than you are? I can only say I hope your recovery is going well. And everyone on this board who is posting that they hope Hayward makes a full recovery should be saying the same to you.

Real quality human being right here. I'm glad you're here to tell everyone that their ability to feel for someone is really just "virtue signalling" rather than just not being a **** person.

Exum and Hayward probably done for the year. Hopefully injuries don't come in groups of 3.

Durant or Curry would make things interesting.

That was tongue-in-cheek, BTW. I don't wish injuries to anyone. Never wished that on Hayward. Personally, I was hoping team chemistry would be bad and Tatum would outplay him (and then Ainge would make a trade next summer). Would be too much to hope for, but that was my dream.

Any truth to the rumor Stevens was cradling Gordon's head in his lap on the plane while giving him a morphine-coated binky?

Sucks about the injury, but more about when it happened. He's basically on a new team that is trying to establish an identity. By time he gets back, there will be an established identity, and two #3 picks that are playing his position will be entrenched in the starting lineup. This feels like it's probably going to turn into a David Lee situation where the guys behind him take advantage of the opportunity, and the Celtics are forced to dump him for nothing. They already have luxury tax concerns, and have multiple guys due for a payday this summer.
