What's new

My dream draft:

That was one game. Fredette scored 33 points on 11-22 shooting against an elite 8 Arizona team that had Derrick Williams on it. The Cougars won that game by 22 points, by the way. He also scored 43 points and 25 points against SDSU in the teams' two regular season matchups. SDSU went to the sweet sixteen before eventually losing to the National Champion in UConn. Arizona also lost to UConn in the elite 8.

Agreed, We should not look at isolated games with JF. And JF did have some good games. He also had 16 games where he shot 33% or less from beyond the arc and in 12 of those it was 25% or less.

Let's say we get Irving and Williams. Irving turns out to be a top 5 PG and Williams turns out to be a border-line All-Star caliber SF. How long before we start going to conference finals and championships?

I would think that it would come pretty fast. We would essentially be the OKC Thunder with better players at the PF, C, and SG positions. Our bench would also be outstanding (Devin Harris, C.J. Miles, Jeremy Evans, Paul Millsap, Fesenko/Okur).

2-3 years as long as Hayward and Favors continue to develop and we can keep an acceptable bench.

We would be right there with them. Derrick Favors is more athletic than Chris Bosh. Derrick Williams has unbelievable athletic potential. He might be up there with Lebron. Right now, Wade is probably more athletic than Hayward, but I think that Gordon has the potential to be a star player in the league. I know people will scoff at me, but Hayward reminds me of another Indiana small-school star that led his team to the National Championship Game: LARRY BIRD.

I'm still pretty enamored of Biyombo. It's the gambling-on-potential temptation in me but I almost want him more than anyone in this draft. I'm glad I'm not the GM - I don't think I'd have the guts to do it (unless his workouts inflated my confidence in him).
If he has a good workout I'd sure have the confidence to draft him. He is a potential game changer. I'm obviously enamored too.

Let's see.

SG: Gordon Hayward vs. Thabo Sefolosha

Um, Gordon by a mile.

SF: Derrick Williams vs. Kevin Durant

Right now, Durant. In the future? Probably a push.

PF: Derrick Favors vs. Serge Ibaka

Derrick Favors has the potential to be an all-league player. Ibaka? Not so much.

do u really think derrick may possibly be as good as durant?

No freaking clue. From what I saw in the NCAA Tournament, he has some serious potential. The kid was flat out amazing.
