Report: Donatas Motiejunas on Utah Jazz radar

According to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress, the Utah Jazz are very high on Donatas Motiejunas.
The official draft order won't be determined until the evening of May 17th, but if the ping pong balls remain true, the Jazz would pick sixth. There's plenty of reason to believe that the Motiejunas will be available in that slot, and it may be another indicator that they're ready to move on from Andrei Kirilenko.

Move on from Kirilenko? Motiejunas doesn't play small forward. If he could I'd be more interested in him. Am I missing something?

KOC runs a stealth ship. We've seen this on a never-before-seen level. Why would I put stock in any rumor concerning the players he was considering drafting?

I wonder if the Jazz are targeting Euro guys more than black player partly because if they ever amount to anything they will have a better chance of keeping them.

You just get get good players and figure it out. You can always trade good players. When you draft a guy, you basically own him for 4 years. That's too much time to worry about whether they'd rather live somewhere else.

His passing skills are already elite and you know the Jazz are going to like that coming from a big man. His post game is more refined than Bargs and he should score inside on smaller players easily. Will he rebound any better than Bargs? Probably not initially. He is just 20 though, so could improve that with added weight.

If he adds weight, and your forgetting Defense. The part of the game the Jazz seemed to forget about a lot this year. I have a hard time drafting a guy that when he plays possibly makes our interior defense worse than it was this year. If he is there at 12 I guess I would be ok with him. At 6 no please.

1. Not everyone can add good weight.
2. Rebounding is first and foremost about will.

I'm not a fan of foreign players because the hype often exceeds the talent, but with Motiejunas, one thing stands out for me and that is how fluid he is. He moves like a smaller player and that's meant in a good way. The videos I have seen of him both scare me and intrigue me. Scare because I don't see him pounding down low and I really don't want 7 footers who settle for the perimeter. Intrigue because he looks very skilled already. I am not sure about taking him with the first pick, but if he's there when the Jazz make their second pick, I wouldn't criticize the pick.

What is his contract situation? Could he wear a Jazz uni next season? Does anyone know?

Yes! Yes! I would love it if we scooped him up. Although hearing the media say the Jazz like him is the kiss of death. The dumb media is completely in the dark as to who GM's, most specifically KOC, are high on.

Name the last KOC draft pick that everyone knew beforehand he was going take. If I remember right, I think most people knew he was high on DWill, but even then I'm not sure he showed his hand before he had to. One thing's for sure, if KOC really is high on Donatas, it wasn't him who spilled the beans, and whoever did is most likely sittining in a ditch wearing a Colombian necktie.

Last year it was Cole Aldrich early and Luke Babbit late. There was also that Saer Sene guy.... I would not like to play cards with O'Connor. I figure if Huntsman wins the Presidential election he's gonna tap KOC to head the CIA.

I have not read any of the reputable websites that says he has a contract problem so I believe he could come over. It funny the websites are all over with him. Some have him top 8 others have him around 20.

Mo Almond.

Mo Almond.

I don't remember the days leading up to the 2007 draft, so maybe I'm way off, but when you pick #25, I would assume it would be tough to pinpoint exactly who you want, and then let people know beforehand that that's who you want.
