Utah Jazz (5-6) vs Miami Heat (5-6) Tonight! 11/10/20117 7pm MST

Mitchell is being asked to do way more offensively than ANY rookie this year. I don’t think any rookie’s numbers would look efficient in those circumstances.

This isn’t rocket science.

That's where I blame Quin.

You're right though, it isn't rocket science. The Jazz can't shoot worth ****.

You blame Quin for having to rely on a rookie to score?

You know who makes roster decisions and signings, right?

DL gave Quin square pegs this offseason.

And the Jazz were ahead in the game until Dion Waiters went super saiyan.

I think at this point, we have to stop pretending that teams or players make shots against the Jazz through luck. The Jazz just didn't bother defending the three during the most crucial 3 minutes of the game.

No. I blame Quin for giving Mitchell the keys to the car unless we are in full rebuild mode. It's too much to ask for Mitchell right now.

So who should he "give the keys" to? The Jazz are developing a basketball rookie. It's going to be rough sometimes. Stop bitching about it.

Remember the days when people cried to Corbin he didn't play rookies enough? Where is this mythical sweet spot of rookie allowance at?

Ricky Rubio was 0 for 5.
Joe Ingles was 2 for 8 for 4 points.
Hood was 5 for 19.

And people want to criticize Mitchell for going 5 for 14. Guys like Lillard, McCollum, Westbrook, Ginobli and so on go 5 for 14 all the time. Go look at some of the moves and shots that Mitchell completed and note the degree of difficulty.

So a baseline fadeaway 3 (from a 31% 3pt shooter) is now an easy shot?

Again, based on the evidence this season, it is. We're 28th in the league in opponent 3 point percentage. You can pretend all you want it's due to luck and somehow every team getting hot against the Jazz only.

Pretty cruddy time to be a Jazz fan. Haven't won a game since November 1. Lost four straight. Things looking bleak in December.

?

He had a huge jump from Freshman to Sophomore year. He's a young player who has great form. I'll take form over results early in a player's development 100/100 times. He is going to have a similar jump (and early struggles) in his NBA rookie to sophomore year.

And yet his sophomore year numbers were still mediocre.

Mitchell is going to be an all-star level player before the end of his rookie contract. I'd put good money on it.

Mitchell stands out because he's quick. Exum is the same. Guys like Ingles, Hood, Favors...they're slow and it's not hard to guard them.

To have an efficient offense, you've got to have players who are quick and can shoot, so when the ball moves around the floor, guys can make shots and take advantage of space. Right now, the Jazz aren't making shots, and they don't have enough athleticism to attack on offense, other than Mitchell.
