What's new

Saw this elsewhere. Think Betrayward knew he was leaving?

Hayward is present at the Celtics game tonight. I'm here, too, so I booed him quietly. You're all welcome.

lmfao. How does it feel being next to so many happy Boston fans?

I honestly think Boston has a strong shot, more than the Cavs, at beating the Warriors. They built that team perfectly to counteract what Golden State does.

I have to be honest. It was an amazing atmosphere. The crowd was after it, even when Boston was down big. It was loud, there were impromptu chants all around, and seeing all those huge banners in the rafters above the floor? Damn. Made me feel pretty sad, actually. After the game you'd have thought they won the damn championship. Cheering all the way out of the stadium, which was pretty nightmarish to navigate, but once you were in the arena proper it was pretty sweet. Cheering in the streets, it was pretty big.

imagine hayward winning a ring from the bench in wearing his suit

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

how'd warriors score 88 on the celtics? thats a joke

Yeah, it's the sad reality. Places like Boston are always going to be attractive to players because the history and how much media attention the Celtics get.

I'm shocked at how good Boston has been defensively and on the boards. I thought for sure those would be big weaknesses for that team.

Hate to say it, but I can see why Hayward wanted to play for Stevens.

I don't know how Hayward fits in with this team to be honest. How do you send Brown or Tatum back to the bench after the way they've been playing? Maybe they get rid of Aaron Baynes, but he's a big reason why their defense has been so good. I don't think taking Baynes out to replace him with Hayward will be a net positive.

Completely agree. Plain as day he knew for a very long time which is fine, but all the BS he put the Jazz through (and Miami) is why i have no respect for him.

It was reported that Hayward asked for a trade in summer of 2016 to Boston.

The Jazz were stupid. They should have tried to get picks from Boston for Hayward.

Uhh, you are aware they start Marcus Morris in Hayward's spot, not Tatum or Brown, right? They want to play 3 SF's. That's why they added Hayward.

When the season ends just tell them you are leaning strongly towards leaving and don't make moves with him in mind. I do not think we have traded for Rubio had we known...

I think The Jazz made the Rubio move because they thought Hayward might be leaving.

No sense bringing back Hill for 60mil on a 40 win team when they can have Rubio for less than half that and a 35 win team.

To me last nights game is a perfect example of one of the reasons Hayward wanted to leave. Do you think the Jazz get any of those calls in the last couple of minutes that gave BOS those FT's (especially Irving's)? No they don't. Also on top of that we all know from watching the Jazz games they would've gotten called for at least 1 or 2 fouls (like Horford jumping and bumping KD) in the last 1-2min of the game.

My point is BOS is one of the teams that just has that cache that gets calls their way with any of it's star players and after years of not getting most of those calls down the stretch he thought he deserved going to BOS and getting those would sound appealing.

Yes I know that sounds petty and stupid and I acknowledge I'm bias towards the Jazz but I have a hard time watching other NBA games without noticing calls that the Jazz woulnd't get or would get called against them in the same situations.

I disagree it was thrown out there a bunch that we needed an established point guard on the roster when we met with Gordon and the Hill/Ingles/ Hayward negotiations would have been tough.

If he made All NBA and was eligible for the supermax probably would have stayed. Yes it would have looked greedy of him to say he's leaving after missing out on it, but I think fans would have preferred it to the dog and pony show he put on.

Who cares about Hayward at this point? Mitchell is ten times the player Hayward was at this stage in their careers and he's really not that far behind him overall in the grand scheme of things. Mitchell has the "It factor", that shouldn't be overlooked or taken lightly.

Onward and upward gentlemen, not Hayward.

Love Mitchell, but Hayward was vastly better in his 7th year than rookie Mitchell.
