Following Potential 2018 Draftees

He's putting up good numbers, but I'm still not seeing much perimeter game from Bagley.

It took him awhile, but Ayton finally made a 3.

Check out the fadeaway at 5:25.

I've wanted to see more perimeter skill too. But there are still flashes that you can project would develop into a more impactful offensive player going forward. The athleticism and movement at his size are impressive.

Ayton not an ideal fit with Gobert but I'd take him 3 all day... I think long and hard at #2 but prolly stick with Porter.

Only way the Jazz draft Bamba or Ayton is if they are trading them. How can any Jazz fan watch what how Snyder plays the 2nd big next to Gobert and want either of them?

Or if they trade Gobert and go into multi-year tank mode. That's a possibility if they think they can't get good enough fast enough before Gobert's contract expires. For example, lets say this is the case and they get an offer for Gobert that would land us POrter or Doncic and we get Bamba or Ayton with our own pick. There are much worse starting points for a rebuild than this.

For the record I don't think it's likely by any means, but it's not totally impossible.

That would be a horrendous move. Just draft someone else who makes sense or trade the pick.

Would you draft Knox or Bridges at 3? I think there is significant drop off between Ayton and them.

My hypothetical was if and only if they've decided to trade Gobert first, not to trade Gobert because we don't like who's there at our pick.

Ayton' ceiling is too high to pass on at 3 if porter is off the board. Start him out backing up Gobert until you know what he is or draft the guy and trade down picking up really good assets.

If Bagley doesn't show he can shoot I don't think I'm in on him... I guess at 4 if he's there you'd take him.

Is Bamba supposed to be a rudy clone if he develops? I'd prolly pass there.

I was talking more generally for Bamba. For the Jazz if we got a pick that high up and Doncic wasn't there I would strongly strongly consider trading down over taking Porter/Bagley.

I'd draft Bagley or Porter.
