Him or Tatum. Tatum is still 1.5 years younger than Mitchell and is 6'8, so I think he would still get the edge.
Or Markkanen. For me he has Porzingis' potential (minus the blocks and nagging injuries).

Lmao no.Or Markkanen. For me he has Porzingis' potential (minus the blocks and nagging injuries).
lol. They don't play the same position or have the same role at alll but okay. Forget that DM is the sole reliable offensive option for the Jazz and Tatum feasts off the ball.Him or Tatum. Tatum is still 1.5 years younger than Mitchell and is 6'8, so I think he would still get the edge.

You're comparing apples to oranges in terms of what they are as players. What we do know is that Mitchell is producing more in a much more difficult situation than Tatum.
Someone asked if a redraft happened who would go #1 and I said DM or Tatum. I just sided with Tatum because of the age and height factor. This is still the NBA and 6'8 wings are still the highest demanded asset. I don't think any team would look just strictly at current results in conducting a hypothetical redraft. You're comparing apples to oranges in terms of what they are as players. In other words, I think your assessment is wrong and lacks depth.
Also just wanted to post this.... Donovan Mitchell ranked second in Rookie Rankings. Can he beat out Simmons eventually? http://roundballdaily.com/2017/12/1...ings-has-donovan-mitchell-taken-the-top-spot/
As a starter (20 games) Mitchell is averaging (per 100) 29.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists. In comparison Simmons is averaging 20.2 points, 10.2 boards and 8.9 assists.
So Simmons is getting 2.8 more assists and 5.4 more rebounds but Mitchell on better TS% is averaging 9.5 more points.
This race should get interesting, hopefully they both stay healthy and dont hit any rookie wall.
