Jazz are applying for a hardship exception I believe we get an extra roster spot, if granted, after looking at the internet.

Rumor has it we are bringing back JL3 or Jimmer to help tank... stay tuned.

I bet you people would be more open to playing Jimmer over Rubio right now

Jimmer's averaging almost 38 PPG in China this season. 1.8 million to boot.

There's more than a handful of former NBA players playing in China: Sullinger, Lawson, Weems, Hickson, Jennings, Scola, Landry, Stokes, Hansbrough, Bass, Motiejunas, Marbury and others, including the very cool Mike Harris.

Cool article about China: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ketball-players-share-tales-really-play-china

Jimmer put up a 12.6 PER in his much-travelled NBA career. Rubio is giving us a 12.1 currently. His shooting numbers this season are not that much different than his career numbers. It is just everything else that is way down. He has been nothing short of a massive disappointment
here.

Are they applying for a hardship exemption or a disabled player exemption (more likely). IIRC, the hardship rule requires the team to have four or more players injured for 2 plus games. The exception only lasts until one player comes back from injury.

The DPE creates a roster spot around $8.5M or half of the injured players salary, whichever is less, and keeps an additional roster spot open for the season. I'm guessing they applied for a DPE for Thabo. The fact that they didn't do this earlier tells me that Dante will likely be back this season.

Jones said hardship exception. Does the DPE create a roster spot? I thought it just gave a cap exemption.

Whatever it is if we don’t qualify then no one should.

Getting hardship exception would be good to open up a roster spot for a trade... Say Cleveland sends Osman and Frye back for Favs... we would have to release someone when the player is healthy... I'm not sure if we would have to release someone when Rudy gets back, but I'd guess Joe Jesus gets released if not traded.

Did we get a hardship exception for Exum?
No, the hardship exception is given to teams with multiple injured players at the same time(I think it was 3 or 4, not sure). At the time Exum got injured we only had him injured. Right now we have Gobert, Exum, Thabo + probably someone else out so we are applying for it. The best thing about this one is that we get an additional roster slot if the league approves the exception.
