Golden State Warriors @ Utah Jazz -- Tue. Jan 30th 7pm MST

Destroying this chemistry? Favors HAS TOLD THE F.O. he is NOT resigning with the Jazz and Hood didn't play... so yeah, trade them both to spread the floor to HELP the chemistry
Favs didn't say that to the FO. He even said on his Twitter that it was a false rumor.

Well, I hope it's true. As long as we don't go ridiculous on it.

EDIT: It's also hard to play this one out if you're the Jazz, there is ALWAYS a possibility of walking for nothing

Agreed if you can trade, trade, but in all honesty Favs isn’t worth much on the trade market cause any team getting him he can do the same thing, walk.

This might have been Favors' last game for the Jazz in Utah. The Jazz don't play at home again until after the trade deadline. Kinda makes me sad. I hope you guys sent him off accordingly.

Not sure there's a trade out there for Favors that makes sense. Jazz aren't going to take back a bad contract. DL wants to have financial flexibility on the off chance he can get Jabari to sign an offer sheet. But Milwaukee undoubtedly matches and then makes other trades to avoid the tax.

I don't think that's possible. We have to renounce almost half the roster just to give the max offer sheet... and then we cannot get the players back if MKE matches.

Thank goodness Hayward stepped aside so this kid could become a star and the face of the Jazz. The nightlife thing got way overplayed, but we would never see this type of thing from Hayward, it’s hard to like Donovan anymore than I already do but he seems to never disappoint. I don’t know how we ended up with him, but I thank god every day and night we did.

Sure we can. If Bucks match, we have ~$30M. Renouncing rights doesn't mean you can't then sign those players as FA's.
But a couple of things would need to happen first before Utah could open up a max/near max spot:
1. Burks needs to be traded for an expiring.
2. Exum needs to be re-signed for less than his cap hold, which will be $15M.

Then,
3. Assume Dante gets around $10M.
4. Jazz decline options for Thabo, Udoh and Jerebko. Renounce rights to all other of their FA's
5. 7 man roster of Gobert, Mitchell, Rubio, Exum, Ingles, Bradley and O'Neal. Additional cap holds for their 1st round pick and minimum roster spots.

Jazz would have salaries ~$73M (depends on Exum's contract and where the draft pick falls).
Unlikely DL goes after Parker as a RFA, but not impossible. More likely is he tries to get a starter from a team needing to clear cap room to sign stars. Could easily facilitate Lebron/George to the Lakers or Clippers.

Looking forward to the day they unveil his statue outside the arena. He'll be just as important to this franchise as Stockton and Malone.
