Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Decided I'm all in on the Khyri Thomas bandwagon. I think he is projected further down most draft boards but that's a guy I hope we are targeting.

**Major sleeper alert**

A Sudanese-Australian import, 6'6" Freshman swingman, Makauch Maluach at New Mexico...

In 20 minutes per game he's shooting off the charts %'s, 56% from the field, 48% from 3 on 2 attempts per..

I like his handle, he passes the ball, has very nice defensive potential.. This kid is a pro...

Not sure of his exact age but they had him on the Australian U18 and U19 teams in the last few years so max he's 20..

i'm afraid we've seen the last of Ayton until summer league.

This is glorious..... I can't shake the image of Sean Miller reprising the role of Curley from the Stooges, on the phone with Ayton saying "Ohh gee Mr. Ayton, where do we, where do we send your money??"

There's truly 10,000 keen lines from rap songs about situations like these... ya know, faking it til you make it(Sean Miller)... One could argue 50 Cent blew up rapping about this very subject.....

I used to have this line in my sig.

"lets watch these people and point at the impostors" from a GREAT atmosphere song called "you make me wanna"

This dude Miller a certified imposter, and he's a punk, in my book. He's creating an unfair advantage, for what? personal gain, and to flex on some AMATEURS... this is like Margarito loading his gloves with paper mache, **** at least that was vs cutthroat professionals.....

To me, the title of coach is one of high prestige.. It wont happen but if anyone ever called me coach, i'd take it very ****ing serious... and bottom-line he signed his name and his word ain't worth ****... I've read all of John Wooden's books, he's rolling in his grave over this story, this is not what this **** is about, it's about the kids, and prepping them for the next step...

Miller makes 2.3 million this season, he's not a coach, he's a fall guy.. LOL...

I re4ally like the fit of Justin jackson. If his injury was causing his shooting woes then I say he would be a perfect fit. 6'8" with a 7'3" wing span.

He was fantastic today, especially in the first half think he had like 19. Huge upset over Nova...

That Aussie they have Jacob Epperson who I mentioned during his recruitment is LEGIT too, next year is his time to shine tho.

Mamadi Diakite and De'Andre Hunter is hands down my favorite duo off the bench since UK had Ulis and Devin Booker..

Take UVA to win the tournament. They profile as a favorite that gets the job done IMO. I think it's quite clear thats one of the best college teams in many years... They'd demolish the Brogdon led UVA teams...

Devonte Graham just put this game on ice in style.. He is making everything he puts up in this second half, degree of difficulty doesn't mean a damn..

IDK how anyone who's trying to be objective and evaluate that, what he just did in this 2nd half, wouldn't be crazy impressed...

He's a player I've been talking about here since recruitiment and I've always said, if you watch him closely, he gets "NBA buckets" and it's just the damn truth, nothing to argue about, thats what he does.

U could put this kid on the Jazz, he fits here next to Mitchell, they both about 6'2" but Graham has serious out-performer potential, he's very slippery, he can play iso ball, he exists on an island..

He's so humble too... The interview after the game was just great. Maria Taylor asks him about how he was unconsious and everything was going in and he just looks up with a smile and says "I just wanted to win", in no way was he about to take any credit, he's like Aaron Judge on the Yankees, same type of psych profile..

He is shooting just 38.2% from 2. Just sayin’.

That stat, as it applies to Graham this season, is anomalous.. His game will scale down much better than many scoring guards for the pros IMO, this is not a Jimmer or Trey Burke or Acie Law or Quincy Douby situation where he's just convinced he can make every shot.. for a player shooting 7 3's a game to be taking almost 6 FT's a game is a very nice balance that offsets some of the 2pt %.. and bottomline, when the money is on the table, they want him to have the ball and the shot, because more often than not he's gonna make it, Graham is a big shot taker and a big shot maker.. He reminds me of Jason Terry without the speed.

Jarred Vanderbilt just dominated Mizzou in that first half and took 1 FG attempt. He's got 10 boards and they have 11. What he's doing to them in transition is just slicing em to peices. He's breaking them down with his running of the floor..

He's truly one of the best 6'9" forwards I've ever seen at grabbing a defensive board and then pushing it up the court in transition, he does it all in one fluid athletic motion, at high speed..

Any team who likes to push the pace, and thats pretty much all of em, are gonna like what he brings to the table..

Wealthy mans version of Al Farouq Aminu. Those who speak about Vanderbilt in the 20-25 range are dense. Clearly a lotto talent.

Maybe so.
I mean, he's good, but there is no way he is going to be able to show he can shoot this year. There is 2 game left in conference play, plus w/e is left in tournament play (probably not much for Kentucky). He isnt going to suddenly start shooting 3s.

I certainly think Vanderbilt is really talented and worth being a fairly high pick, but it's a lot of projection to say he will ever be able to shoot. I wouldn't be too upset with him as the Jazz's pick. He would definitely be an upside play if you can ever develop that part of his game.
