Jazz want a PG

Pick Williams/Kanter, then draft Singleton at 12. You can buy a second rounder and pick up Andrew Goudelock on the extreme cheap. Right there's your genious 2nd round pick. Dude can shoot, he is faster than people think, and could use some better coaching to round out his fundementals as he went to a small school. There is no risk there. You can trade height with upside for very good point guards. I never want my team to be undersized again as a Jazz Fan.

Goudleock is a great example of a value bet. You can make gambles like that later in drafts. In the lottery you don't mess around.

There are several very intriguing prospects projected late first to mid-second. EXACTLY why you should always take BPA in the early lottery.

Kanter really needs to prove that he can play against someone. Last year, the top bigs in the draft--Favors, Cousins, Monroe, etc.--worked out against other players.

Kanter really should be willing to do a workout with Biyombo, Montejunas, and some other practice players.

Exactly. You don't gamble with the #3 pick. Which is why I wouldn't use it on Kanter who has never faced meaningful US competition.

Yea because the US U18 team had a bunch of stiffs. He played against the top young US team and dominated them. Guys like Sullinger, Barnes, etc. Of course he is a risk but so is everyone in this draft. What happens if DW can't play the SF then how many PFs do the Jazz have? WHat happens if Knight is a poor man's Kenyon Dooling or Devin Harris? Kanter 's coach said he would take him number 1. There is no can't miss player in this draft. Whoever is the BPA, then you take him. Right now Kanter should at least be in the conversation for the number one pick.

I think Williams CAN play the 3. Quite well. We know Kanter can't. He is a PF, where we already have a log jam.

So Kanter played 1 exhibition game against the top guys when they were in HS? Not impressed. I'd much rather take my chances (and yes, I admit anyone is taking a chance) with a guy who has been tested over time against US competition in the US style game.

Yes, we have a log jam @ 4/5....it's called a trade people.

You draft the best player, and you have the most talent. The more talent you have, the more tradable assets you own.
We draft Kanter, and trade Sap or Al for a good wing or unprotected lottery pick in 2012.

I just am not sold on Kanter's talent. He looks awkward, and scared with the ball in many highlights I've seen.

Well, you don't draft Kanter and NOT trade one of your bigs. Jazz are stacked there so of course one of them needs to be traded.
And Kanter may prefer PF but he can play center.

Feldman has been saying this for awhile with knowledge from an "inside source", but I think it dates back to when they had the 6th pick. Its called artificially hyping a players stock so the player you really want gets passed on. KOC is sneaky like that.
