Ben's take on ROY

Lol @ Ice Cubes response. He basically said he doent know what Utah is doing and hasnt watched him.

That was a pretty embarrassing for Ice Cube. Ice "Someone has to score when your team sucks." Stephan A. "They are the 4th seed in the West (the much much better conference)" Ice "Oh, I didnt know that."
I mean, did anyone expect Ice Cube to watch the Utah Jazz? He is no Chuck D, a true NBA fan.

And if Simmons was on our team we'd probably love him too.
Difference is that fans of simmons (aussies) say he is a douche. I dont think ingles fans ever say he is a douche.

Yep, and thats why its hard to take any of your opinions of any aussie players serious. Its a little ridiculous to claim Simmons has a higher ceiling than Embiid. It is straight up bat **** crazy to argue that Simmons is better than Embiid already. But both of you think Simmons is going to be better than Lebron so I guess ill just take your posts on this subject with humor. Probably the same as both of you take real Jazz fans opinions on Jazz players :)

Never said he was going to be better than LeBron!?

What is a real Jazz fan?

You need a connection to a team. I am a fan of the Jazz. I hope they win it all. The Aussie connection drew me here, and like many people who follow sports teams, I will remain a fan once that connection expires. Never could follow the Bucks or Warriors with Bogut, or Mills with the Spurs etc. This team has a very high degree of awesomeness to it... independent of the Aussies.

It is true, I would love the Jazz to beat the Sixers in the Finals with Aussie Ben having a mighty series. But that is the ambivalence of fandom which takes a lot of its inspiration from national players.

Let me ask you this, do you never root harder for teams overseas that have a 'local' connection? Human nature I'm guessing. Basic instinct.

I was mostly just teasing you.

No, I dont care about local connections playing overseas. But that is just me.

As far as a real fan goes I would actually just let a person define their own fandom and however you want to enjoy sports or have rooting interest go for it. Although most would say you are only a true fan if you stick to your team even if your "player" leaves.

I guess it was UtahJazzz that said he would be better than Lebron. But do you think he has a higher ceiling than Lebron or think he could get to that level? Either way you are far to high on him but you care about him on a personal level so that makes sense.

Ron don’t take UtahJazz seriously, I think he’s about 12 years old.
