Official Round 1 Predictions: Jazz-V-Thunder

I kind of like the reverse psychology of a road series taking pressure off us.

It works really well in rec tennis... I routinely stole 1st sets from players better than me. A lot of times talent would catch up, but I remember one match in particular in a tourney that I took the first set from a guy who played fairly high level in college. My buddies were shocked... he smoked me in the next two sets and won the tournament.

I'm not a prediction guy when it comes to my team winning or losing. However, we win the series if two things can happen:

#1 - Gobert must hold his own against Adams. If he lets Adams disrupt everything and get a ton of offensive boards, we are in trouble.

#2 - We need to win one of the first two games in OKC.

Why did I think we would be playing NO had we won? In that case, my bad.

Because Portland is playing them. Crazy tiebreaker rules and whatnot... The impact of last nights game was home court advantage in round 1, and who we face in round two. WHEN we get to round 2, we will face Houston. I personally wanted payback against GS, and I think we can beat them. I may be delusional, but my imaginary friends agree with me, so that has to count for something.

People are reading waaaaaay too much into the loss last night. Tough opponent... back end of a back-to-back and 3rd game in 4 nights. With flights from LA to Utah to Portland. These guys aren't robots... tired legs will miss shots.

I hoped we could win, but it shouldn't surprise anyone that we were flat.

Sounds good to me. If there's no Curry I would much rather play GS. But if we beat OKC and then Houston we'll either play Portland or GS - and I would rather play Portland or GS than Houston or OKC and so if we get there it isn't as scary.

we need two things here
- to bless the threads with #rallychurro
- to storm the okc boards and talk some smack

Actually one more:

We need @Douchebag K to make a statement that it is mathematically impossible for the Jazz to win a championship. And if they do he will change his legal name to match his board name. Seems a worthy sacrifice.

So doesn't PG get a lot of his points shooting off screens? I may be wrong, but I think that is his thing... You know who else gets a lot of shots of screens... JJ Redick. Does anyone remember what Joe Ingles did to JJ?

Joe Ingles gonna put PG on the milk carton? I think that might be the key to the series. Westbrook will get his one way or another. Adams is a stud and will have his moments ( i hate him when he plays us but love watching him against others). If Ingles outplays PG we win. Ingles makes life hell for PG on offense... PG has to guard DM on defense... PG may die on the court guys.
