Sorry Jazz fans – Ben is the NBA Rookie of the Year

Tell me about Simmons' free throw percentage - 56 % or 3-point percentage - 00 %. Dante is Steph Curry compared to Simmons.

Simmons has a true shooting percentage of 55%, what is Mitchell's true shooting %?

Not to mention Ben is a better defender, passer and rebounder.

Being a Jazz fan does not mean I have to be biased towards Mitchell. Stats wise Simmons is the better player.

then why don’t you post sth about cheering jazz? lol

I bet you want jazz to lose just to prove your point lmao

Is he a better passer? Just because he has a lot of assists doesn't mean he's a better passer. As has been pointed out time and again, here, Quin's system doesn't allow for a lot of assists. Ricky is having a career low in assists yet having his best season. I've seen some remarkable passes by Donovan that few players could duplicate. True shooting percentage -- lol. He's a poor shooter, most of his shots come close to the basket. You think DeAndre Jordan is a good shooter, yet he leads the league year in and year out in FG % because he mostly just dunks. Stop relying on stats and watch the game. This is like the argument we used to have whether CP3 or DWill was better. Like that one, time will sort this out.

Even if Simmons loses ROY the year, chin up! I bet he will be the front runner in his third year. . .

I heard someone say Joel Embiid is basically a rookie the other day and I laughed. Bro had already signed his second deal!

Ben is going to win the award and deserves it. By nba definition he is a rookie. He ain’t gotta be a dick though and disrespectful about it especially when he got a clear advantage. That’s been my beef the whole time.

I would still rather build around Donovan and am excited to hate watch the sixersnin the playoffs. let’s go Heat!

If I were objective, I would pick Simmons, but I'm not objective. And I think if he is to become an all-time great like the next LeBron he has to become a much better shooter.

To be honest the only real gripe with Simmons being ROY is the redshirt year getting acclimatised with the environment, etc... But hey Blake Griffith got the Roy despite of that, so as long as it's not forbidden, it makes sense to give it to Simmons for the overall impact.

The main point about this year ROY challenge is that it was of a very very very high level. Not one of those Brogdon or Carter-Williams years.

This is a good example of selective boosterism. Yeah, that's a fine true shooting percentage for Simmons. Good for him. But it has to be taken in context depending on how that percentage plays out in the game in tandem with what his team needs. Last year Rudy Gobert was #1 in the league in true shooting percentage at .681%. Is he a better offensive player than Simmons? Or is he doing it differently?

Look, it's pretty clear you're either a Jazz troll who enjoys stirring the pot about Simmons (possibly an Aussie who was following the team because of Ingles and Exum), or you're a Simmons fan and you're trolling us that way. Either way, it's an old shtick. Find something more productive to do.

Yep, for a guy like Simmons his Rookie of the Year motto is...there is always next year.
