Sorry Jazz fans – Ben is the NBA Rookie of the Year

are there really any jazz fan(z) with pitchforks about the roty campaign like the nationalistic article suggests tho? Everyone I know think it would be cool if dm won, but wouldn’t be bothered if he didn’t.

Simmons's fans are THE most insecure bunch I've seen in years, their constant need of approval leads them to not only spam every forum, tweet, YT video, who talks about Donovan, they even appear on unrelated posts to show everyone worldwide that they are followers of the cult of douchiness with Ben as their leader. Case in point:

Ben's balls must be really delicious because these guys cannot help be all over them.

I do believe it should be Simmons, but this is partially due to the fact that I like Mitchell better and feel it would incentivize him even more to continue to get better. Mitchell has gotten plenty of accolades already, and how much he has grown in two years is a statistical anomaly. Simmons winning guarantees to keep Mitchell hungry, and even though his rate of improvement isn't sustainable, not winning ROY ensures Mitchell doesn't enter the realm of comfort and complacency that can happen when people are given too much, too soon. Statistically speaking, Simmons is untouchable.

lol plz go be a sixers fan. you are so obssessed with simmons. stop wasting your time on this forum. are you even a jazz fan? you never talk about jazz and talk about simmons

Tbh, I would love to see them both as co-roy. They both have been fun to watch and they're great for the NBA. Both have legitimate arguments as to why they're the better of the two.

Being a Jazz fan does not mean I have to be biased towards Mitchell. Stats wise Simmons is the better player.

Tell me about Simmons' free throw percentage - 56 % or 3-point percentage - 00 %. Dante is Steph Curry compared to Simmons. I will say though, overall, his stats argument is strong. But stats to me aren't the sole measure of a player. It's a guy who comes through in the clutch, who makes the plays when they count, and Donovan generally has done this. I don't know about Simmons because I haven't seen him play much.

Simmons has a true shooting percentage of 55%, what is Mitchell's true shooting %?

Not to mention Ben is a better defender, passer and rebounder.

Is he a better passer? Just because he has a lot of assists doesn't mean he's a better passer. As has been pointed out time and again, here, Quin's system doesn't allow for a lot of assists. Ricky is having a career low in assists yet having his best season. I've seen some remarkable passes by Donovan that few players could duplicate. True shooting percentage -- lol. He's a poor shooter, most of his shots come close to the basket. You think DeAndre Jordan is a good shooter, yet he leads the league year in and year out in FG % because he mostly just dunks. Stop relying on stats and watch the game. This is like the argument we used to have whether CP3 or DWill was better. Like that one, time will sort this out.

Even if Simmons loses ROY the year, chin up! I bet he will be the front runner in his third year. . .

I heard someone say Joel Embiid is basically a rookie the other day and I laughed. Bro had already signed his second deal!

Ben is going to win the award and deserves it. By nba definition he is a rookie. He ain’t gotta be a dick though and disrespectful about it especially when he got a clear advantage. That’s been my beef the whole time.

I would still rather build around Donovan and am excited to hate watch the sixersnin the playoffs. let’s go Heat!

If I were objective, I would pick Simmons, but I'm not objective. And I think if he is to become an all-time great like the next LeBron he has to become a much better shooter.
