I feel bad for Crowder

Those guys were athletes though.
?

None of those players are particularly athletic, and about half of them are less athletic than the average player. I would argue his results with more athletic players has been less impressive (with obvious exception to DM).

Wait Ingles isn’t an athlete... I think Jae will get better when he really understands everything... I think knowing where you have the best opportunities and shots will increase his shooting percentages.

I don’t remember him ever being a super athlete but this year he has had his lowest amount of dunks... which is a sign of decline. I also think he could benefit from dropping a few pounds... even if it caused him some muscle loss. He had a brutal offseason with the trade and death of his mother... I expect him to be better next year for sure.
Ingles is a far better athlete than Jae and he is much longer.

Hill, Hayward, and Demarre are all above average athletes. Hayward was a great athlete and so was Demarre. Hill's athleticism was on the decline with Utah, but it was still far better than Jae's. I think Jae might be the least athletic wing in the NBA, and I'm not exaggerating.

Hayward was not a great athlete (for an NBA player). His lack of athleticism is one of the things he had to work to overcome.

Ha by what measure? Ingles is longer, but not a better athlete. Jae is definitely stronger than Ingles... so is Joe faster or does he jump higher than Jae? More stamina?

Joe is more skilled and coordinated and a smarter player.

I do not expect a big jump with Jae, but he will be better. I expect him to bring good D and a 40/35 shooting split is what I'd expect.

I miss Thabo... He had lost a step laterally, but he was the type that had the length to bother guys like PG. He also carried more ref respect. I don't know if we end up bringing him back or if he is completely washed after the last injury, but he was shooting well and really helping.

You're the resident hater and contrarian, and are completely wrong. Laughably so.

Hayward is (or maybe was w/ the latest injury) a great athlete. The guy was a top ranked tennis player as a dual sport athlete. His lateral quickness was very high tier for a 6'8 wing. I have no idea what kind of rocks you are smoking if you are argue otherwise. The only thing Hayward had to overcome in terms of the physical side was strengthening his body because he came into the NBA really skinny.

Hayward dunked on Giannis. You dont dunk on Giannis if you are an average athlete, especially when you are a length neutral player like Hayward.

Ingles jumps higher, runs faster, is much more coordinated with his movement, much better footwork and body control. By nearly every measure (actually I think every measure) Ingles is a superior athlete.

I think he was always above average and then worked to where he was a top tier functional athlete. Like Wiggins is a freak athlete and you almost never see it... Hayward showed his athleticism a lot.

i think length was more of an issue, but if you look at the combo of strength, speed, and bounce he was top shelf.

Hayward has a laundry list of chase down blocks and poster dunks, but he is an average athlete? Combine that with his lateral quickness, which was always a standout for him, calling him average is laughable. That isnt a contrarian take by any means.

*eventually worked to second shelf.

If you put any stock in combine measurements, Hayward at least at that time was totally pedestrian.

But I'm not here to talk about Hayward. I don't know why I'm here, honestly.

Like I said, Hayward had a neutral wingspan (meaning, same wingspan as height, which is rare in the NBA) and he routinely made highlight dunks and chase down blocks. You dont do that with subpar length if you arent a high level athlete.

I'm not going to argue because it is a dumb thing to argue about, but I like how you state that stuff as fact like they competed in a track competition and Joe took all the gold medals.

I have no idea why you're hanging on this Hayward thing when we're supposed to be talking about the player you hate on our team.

Alright dog. Keep going agains

I'll agree to disagree here. He struggled with lateral movement, but other than that there was nothing about his athleticism that hurt him imo. We can't forget him straight dunking on fools last year... also the two block sequence years ago.

Hayward had a chase down block on Lebron James.....

But average athlete.

Ummm I mentioned his wingspan and I'm agreeing with you. Not a freak athlete like Giannis but very damn good.
