New Assistant Coach Candidates?

Promote Bryant and then hire someone Quin believes in
Hold up with this; does anyone have any idea how he is with gameplanning/strategy/adjustments/X's and O's? Cuz that's the job that needs to be filled.

SA is falling apart. Kwahi is going to force his way out. Parker and Ginobili will retire. And with all of that and his wife's passing, I think Pops finally calls it quits. It's time to swoop in and get Engelland. Lindsey likely has a decent relationship with him.

But yeah, double whatever Johnny Bryant is getting paid. Under his tutelage both Hayward and Mitchell have developed into stud and super stud.

Guys.

Why would Kobe Bryant want to enter the grind of being an assistant coach?

Helping a few players out isn't the same as being a coach all year.

I'm not very concerned about it. Quin knows what he'll need. It'll probably be someone all but the very hard core basketball fans know about. And it may be someone brought in at a lower level due to him promoting within for the lead assistamt.

No way Kobe's wife lets him come to Utah.

She'll see the mountains and think it's Colorado...
Or she sees the other Utah stereotypes, assumes that’s cool in Utah, and decides she wants to be one of the first people riding the next wave of marriage equality.

A couple of names stand out. Almost all have San Antonio connections.

1.) Chip Engelland
2.) Ettore Messina
3.) Becky Hammon
4.) Johnny Bryant (promotion)
5.) Mike Brown (from Quin’s LA days)

I could also see an outside the box type of hire. Adding a TV guy, front office type or even a college coach. Somebody with strong analytical skills.
