How Does The NBA Think The Jazz Can Beat Houston?

The NBA is up against something that they could not have envisioned nor can they stop. The Utah Jazz have no shot in hell of beating the Rockets or the Warriors. In other words, we are all seeing the Super Teams just crush the very good teams. And the Jazz are what I would say is a very good team; but they have zero shot of beating a Super Team like Houston.

A Super Team of Harden and Paul (and then throw in their "lesser" talent) will always beat any other team in the NBA. Sure another team can win a game or two, but in a seven game series the lesser team CAN NOT win!

I am rooting for the Jazz. My Knicks over the past 18 years have the worst won loss % in the NBA and we have lost more games than any other team in the NBA. That's a fact. So I pick a nice team to root for in the playoffs and this year I picked the Jazz. But the friggin' Knicks have as good a shot at beating Houston in a seven game series as the Jazz do.

The lesser team can not win! My solution would be to get rid of the seven game series and just play an NCAA March Madness like tournament. Hell, even my Knicks might have a legitimate shot at a title that way. This current way only a Super Team will be champs.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree in principal with this post. To add insult to injury they then give the super team's the benefit of most calls! It will be interesting to see who get's the calls in the WCF. They should allow all players involved to be considered for an Oscar, there will be some of the biggest flops and played up reactions of all times in that series.

We are not a "very good team".

Our best player is a rookie and we have 2 undrafted dudes as starters.

At best we are a good side.

I hope you're joking, because that is one hilariously idiotic take. There are 4 teams remaining in the West. Jazz is one of them.

"Superteams": GS, Houston

Very good teams: Spurs, Celtics, Philly, Cavs

Good teams: Utah, Portland, Toronto, OKC, Pacers... + 10 or so others.

Lol Jazz are better than those garbage teams from the East and better than Spurs this year.

Philly is getting their *** handed to them by a team lead by a worse rookie than Mitchell. Toronto is about to get swept by the worst Lebron team ever. Celtics might be better than the Jazz next year but without Kyrie and Hayward they are meh. We are obviously better than OKC and 10+ others.

We are also missing one of our most important players for this series.

There is 1 super team: GS
Tier 2 is Houston
Then there are the rest of the good teams and of those Utah is near the top.

Aren't ratings up the past few years following the emergence of these super teams. I think so, so I don't think the elague sees it as a problem.

That said a March Madness style tourney would alleviate the tanking epidemic somewhat.

So we agree.

We have different tiers but essentially we have Utah in the "good team" tier.

The Jazz were a top 5 team this year.

Houston, Golden State and Cleveland are above us. We have an argument against everybody else.

Yes, that is true.

Unfortunately for the fans' enjoyment, but fortunately for league business, Super Teams or dynasties do bring about far better ratings. The Jeter Yankees, the Jordan Bulls, Mike Tyson when he was "Iron Mike", Tiger Woods when he was winning tournaments by 19 shots...dominance attracts more viewers. That's an undeniable fact. Viewers want to see the big guys display their greatness or viewers want to see the big guys fall -- either way, ratings go up.

So, yes, the Super Teams in the NBA may be bad for competitive series, but the ratings are still strong. The league will do nothing to change things. Sucks for me as a Knick fan because we will never win another championship. We can not compete against the Super Teams (hell, we can not even compete against the lottery teams). And the idea of our team getting better here in NY? There is no such thing as "trust the process" here in NY. We are on our 13th coach in 17 years!

Super Teams are here to stay and that means the Jazz and 27 other teams have no chance of a championship.
