There should not be a debate for Phoenix. It has to be Ayton if they are smart. Doncic is not a PG in the NBA. He's a playmaking 2/3. He can't defend NBA PG's. Neither can Booker. They need a difference making big man.

And?

If we take Gallinari's $43 million over the next two years, it's worth #13.

Burks, non-guaranteed contracts, #52 and maybe 2 future 2nd rounders
for
Gallinari and #13

The Clippers could re-sign Avery Bradley and make other moves without that Gallinari anchor. They can get a first rounder back by trading Jordan. We liked Gallinari when he was recently a free agent, but his cap number is huge.

I agree. The amount of pressure on this pick will dominate the "pre-draft" discussion. I still stand by my theory that I would prefer to take whoever isn't taken #1. If Igor wasn't Doncic's former coach, I would want #1 to take Ayton. I just think this puts a ton of pressure on Igor from day 1 especially if he goes out on a limb to select Doncic over Ayton.

my question is... who will jazz pick

My gut says some 2, 3 or 4 BPA. My hope is that we find a way to move up (take a bad contract, use a future first, whatever) to get a guy like Porter Jr. or either Bridges. Porter has the upside whereas I think the Bridges will both be solid contributors for a while.

I don't think when it's said and done that Ayton will be the best player in this draft, or in the top 3. I think Doncic will be.

We may have lost that trade when we lost Hayward. The Jazz were trying to compete that year and convince Gordon to re-sign.

Very true. It's kind of funny, sad, however you want to see it that we used two first rounders on 2 different vet PG's to hope to make Hayward happy. Then we drafted a player better than Hayward right before he leaves...

Clearing his salary opens up nothing for them... they’d never do that deal.

Kings take Doncic 2nd and sign Favors for decent $$$?

C - WCS, Koufos, 2nd rd pick, Favors, Skal
PF - Favors, Skal, WCS, Giles
SF - Doncic, Jackson, Temple, Caboclo
SG - Bogdanovic, Hield, Shumpert
PG - Fox, Doncic, Mason

If they want to keep Harris, they have to pay him next summer. If they want to keep Jordan, they have to pay him next summer. If they want to keep Bradley, they have to pay him this summer.

Shedding $10 million this year (difference between Burks and Gallinari) and $21 million next year is very valuable for the Clippers.

I think he has an Andrew Wiggins mindset. I’d be terrified to pick him.

I’d pick Doncic and if I was 2 I’d see what I could get to move to 5ish if it’s good I’d move down.

Id rather leave clippers in Luxury hell with injured Gallunari and try to woo Avery Bradley.

If sacramento selects Duncic do they move Buddy Hield? If they go big do the move Stein, Giles, or Labisere?

They have bigger plans and are looking to 2019 when they have a **** ton of space. DJ will get moved if he opts in... they can go into the tax if they really want to keep AB. They’d never do the trade you are proposing.

I’ve heard they are looking at a trade for Kawhi... will need to save the picks or young guys for that.

Taking Doncic over Ayton is not going out on a limb. At all.
