Following Potential 2018 Draftees

No

None of that makes sense why it would be Portland. There are a ton of wings in this draft, they don't need to promise anyone.

This is the Bulls 100&

Actually it does. They know they aren't trading up because they can't afford the extra cost. They know they aren't trading out because getting a player on cheap rookie scale deal is valuable to them. They had a general idea of who was in their pick range and one of the few players that was an ideal play style fit for them happened to be Hutchison. The added bonus of being Dame's friend made it easy to promise him he'd be the pick if he was available.

Christ, I can stand “adults” like pgab who are so rainbowy about young athletes, as if every single one is headed to the promised land and amazing and yet somehow beyond criticism.

They could still resign Favors and Exum... Would need to fill in the roster with some cheapies but they just hit on Royce O'Neale. I like Nigel Williams Goss.

The loss of the draft picks and their upside isn't much of a big deal seeing as the Jazz will have picked up their PGOTF. They'll still have the 2019 and 2021 picks and lottery protection in 2022...

Rudy, Mitchell, Ball, Bradley, Ingles (2019 1st rd pick) signed thru 20-21. Exum and Favors too hopefully.. Crowder and O'Neale signed for 2 more seasons.. this type of move is very far from leaving the cupboard barren....

It’s dumb as **** and sets this team back at least 2-3 years.

are you ****ing serious dude lol... Was I not here calling Hayward expendable years ago? Did I not do a thorough debunking on Trey Burke prior to his draft pick?

You simply don't get the youth movement, in your twisted mind you probably still think the Jazz were better off signing Boris Diaw and Joe Johnson than Harrison Barnes.

rudy gobert and donovan mitchell are young athletes, these are the damn pillars of the team, thru the draft and this forum is rainbowy about em -- deal with it.

I've never followed a draft more closely and been more clueless on the direction as this year. After all of this, I'm going to make a prediction:

Lets look at the facts first:

1. We showed we were very good last year. We aren't many pieces away from being a legit contender.
2. This is a very strong class.
3. Many NBA franchises made terrible mistakes with contracts on 2016. This is the last year teams will lose an asset in order to dump them.
4. Our FO was brilliant to create as much tradeable expiring salary as they did.
5. There is more chatter about high draft picks being attainable than any draft I've ever seen.
6. We own the rights to the key free agents on our roster we might want to keep (Favors and Exum).
7. We have the cheapest trio of value wings in the entire NBA with Donovan, Royce and Jae ($11-12 million combined the next 2 years).

Prediction - we are going to do something big. I dont know what, but I just got this feeling. There are too many factors at play working in our favor all at the same time. We can take a terrible 2 year contract if it means swinging for fences.

Will be a fun draft. Happy Fathers Day fellas.

This criticism is far from the truth, but assuredly it isn't nearly as grim as you see it, we're dealing with the cream of some excellent crops here. There is a staggering rate of improvement from these more recent players that will be illustrated in all these new age statistics you see over the years... Just look at the evolution of the 3pt shot...

I can't stand adults who have to attempt to marginalize all the good things going on around them so they can sit atop their high horse to feel comfortable about themselves(on forums often in the form of confirming their prior biases.......), and I see a ton of this.

My absolute all time favorite movie is Persona... It is actually my preference to deal with folks as Liv Ullman's character does in this film... but I'm a nice guy and ultimately a people person and perhaps most importantly an optimist.

im well aware of the perceived warts of many of these athletes but let me first say i believe people are mostly negative nancies, i believe it's much, much easier to criticize than attempt to envision the possibilities on what could be in a few years and it's chances of reaching whatever stage. Basketball is a fluid game, with so many moving peices, little things can make big changes, and if you look close enough there's anomalies happening everywhere all the time...

If u look at the majority of these top 3 pick having fanbases, the vast majority of those fans with an opinion on the players they want drafted or not drafted is steeped heavily in narrative bias, they don't see the top ten as 10 players who will probably make billions of dollars and them having a good choice no matter what, they want their prefrences and then in their minds they start concocting all sorts of bs about the other players being busts and all that other stuff. This is the way people are, they put things in lists and label them, people need to label things around them and pretend their labels are important, its an essential part of the "healthy" human experience

I think it’s pretty ****ing clear what I mean. And once again your timeline and dumb ideas as a GM shows.

Hahaha, the pgab wins at life better than anyone else routine. Awesome, I love this bit. Remind me again of how much you made on the stock market last year and how many hot models you’ve banged thus far in June.

And yes, I do think you care. Otherwise you wouldn’t pull your annual take your ball and go home pouting act.

lol @Bawse Dawg I made 5 or 6 total posts on Lonzo before last years draft calling him the most over rated player ever - but you don't dig those up?

I'm not afraid to be colorful and take a stand on a player

I was under the impression that Favors is an unrestricted free agent.

If doncic is available at #4 do have a deal in place to get doncic and Parsons? I think we could ger our 3rd all star that way. I also think Doncic ks the best prospect based on analytics (which we love). Our new sports medicine department is better than ever and I think we could get Parsons healthy again.

I don’t think we have enough to get it done... crowder, 21, 2019 1st, expirings, Bradley for Parsons and 4... just not enough.

I wonder if clips try though... 12/13 and Harris+Beverly I think would be good enough if the rumors are true.

Clips could also try to get in on the Kawhi sweepstakes.
