Following Potential 2018 Draftees

People that say Okobo is undersized and DD is just fine size wise make no sense to me.

You’d think after Mitchell we’d be more attuned to the importance of wingspan...guess not.

Undersized 2 guard? - He's 6'5". He's as tall as James Harden and taller than Donovan Mitchell and Jrue Holiday.

Adept Playmaker? - Okobo, a PG, averaged 4.8 assists this season. Donte, a combo guard off the bench for the national champions, averaged 3.5 assists per game. Is Donte John Stockton? Not at all. Is he an issue as a playmaker? No. As we evolve and Mitchell gets better, he's going to have the ball in his hands as much or more than the PG. We just need a guy to compliment him.

Doesn't get to the FT line? - Jerome Robinson is known as a "fill it up" scorer who can attack from all over. He averaged 4.5 FT per game while shooing over 14 shots per game. Donte played less mpg and only took 7 shots per game, but attempted 2.7 free throws per game. To call this a "weakness" is lame.

The only thing "weak" about this post was your attempt to take a shot at a player I'm promoting. Donte is a pretty comprehensive player with no clear weakness.

I think the FT qualm is that he shot 70.5%. This is below average for a guard and it is a strong indicator that he won't be a great 3 pt shooter in the league.

Can someone explain to me why the Okobo Love is running so rampant on jazzfanz? Some of you are already preparing his HOF speach for him.

Someone enlighten me.
He's a really good shooter. He is really good in the P/R as a shooter and distributor. He's good in transition. He can play off-ball.

Didn't say anything negative about Divincenzo either. Musa, Brown, Divincenzo and Okogie were the ones who stood out most to me in his breakdown. Musa stood out the most. He made it a point to make it clear the other three could defend and were two way players. Frazier was also noticeable because he was strangely absent.
Musa, Brown, Okogie, Jerome, Grayson, DD, Evans seemed to be the ones he was most glowing about.

Okobo, Khyri and Simons stood out as guys he was negative about. Sucks for me since okobo and Khyri are my top two. I have to hope those were calculated comments.

I might have to take a vacation from the Jazz if they draft Holiday.
I admit that I might be focusing on physical attributes too much, because I would be disappointed with the pick. That being said, maybe he's undervalued because of that at that stage of the draft and he could be a really nice selection. The Jazz really could use a PG since Rubio is expiring, and Exum isn't a PG and might not be back.

I just don’t see much skill level with the ball in hand. No wiggle all straight line drives. That’s good and all for the league he’s in, but I thought I heard he plays in a pretty weak league.

What am I missing. I knew he could shoot and all, a lot of guys in this can shoot, but what in the hell sets this dude apart, because I don’t see it with him. Last year Mitchell’s highlights just popped crazy abilities. Okobo highlights do nothing for me.

Musa just seems like a bust to me. T-Rex arms + frail frame + chucker = serious concerns from me.

If I had to pick a guy the Jazz are smokescreening with, it's him.

I don't know what to tell you, then. I love his ballhandling, P/R play, and shooting.

He's a legit starting PG talent with potential to be a top 10 PG in the league. He shoots well out to 27 feet and would make the Jazz a better team. He might turn out to be better than Colin Sexton.

So we pass on Troy Brown and Jerome Robinson to draft a 6'0", 3rd-year, ball-dominant PG? Is Holiday really that much better than Brunson for that matter?
Yeah... I don't know.

I did like that some prospects were lower on their mock (like Brown).

For the record, I would really like a player from that Villanova team. Despite wanting the Jazz to make some aggressive moves to get some more talent, I care deeply about the culture here and think any of those players would add to it. I like every one of those players, I'm hoping Spellman is there at #52.

I've heard Spellman's name a bit. Just looking at his numbers now. Wow. Is he a legit PF? Dynamite rebounder and shooting 43.3% from three on 3.8 attempts. And a freshman. Geez. Gotta look at some videos on this guy.
