My other thought was that he might want people to think it was him because it made him look like a bigger man than he is. I mean if someone posted a faceless picture of a 17 incher and said it was me I probably wouldn't protest too much is all I'm saying.

If he was using government resources to send these pictures, messages, etc...then I think at the very least he has a moral obligation to resign. If not it's a private matter and the people in his district should make that decision next election.

However, I think the right wing noise machine will be going full blast on this one and Weiner may have no choice but to resign for "the good of the party". Weiner is an effective Congressman and one of the few liberals with balls (no pun intended). The Democrats will lose a lot of sound byte power with this guy out of The House. The far right knows this and will be on the attack for sure.

I suspect he's totally fine in his district.

I lived in his district for many years growing up in NYC - he's locked in.

Before Weiner, Chuck Schumer was the Congressman there forever.

This is pretty much a non-issue to me. His actions were not illegal, he just did something embarrassing and tried to cover it up. He seems like a bad lier, which is surprising for a congressman, so he actually gets bonus points from me over this. His cover-up was short lived and he gave a pretty honest press conference to come clean and didn't make any excuses. I'd just about vote for the guy and I'm sure we don't agree on too much.

I agree. I'm finding it hard to conjure up any outrage over this.
