Jazz select Grayson Allen at 21

Allen is a mental midget like Hood... Gets frustrated and lose control real easily. Count ourselves lucky if this guy can even survive three years of high intensity NBA basketball

Let's not act like we have any idea who will be good or not in the draft. You'll inevitably look like a fool. I'm not excited about the pick, but the people who made it know a lot more about this stuff than me or you. Allen has a decent floor I think, and in our system he could definitely contribute.

We'll see what happens, but what good does it do to not just root for the guy at this point?

Grayson Allen is garbage....Utah Jazz will never win or beat Golden State Warriors with this pick.
So, who we pick at 21 matters that much whether we beat the Warriors? Did we not beat the warriors 3 times by an average of over 20 points last year, and all with out the 21st pick, hmmmm. Allen played on a team with nothing but talented one and done’s and started and scored a tone of points. He played both pg and sg as a starter. He’s not just a shooter he’s athletic and strong as a bull and gives every thing he has to his team. One might say he was dirty because he cared to much. I want all of that fire and he will bring it every second
Again, if Allen can guard SGs in the NBA I will be fine with the pick. He needs to work his *** off on defense.
He strikes me as someone that plays with one speed. I don’t know how good a defender he is, but he will compete 100%. That’s all you can ask for on defense. He’s a fighter.
I’m curious, when will he play? Behind ingles? Because he surely won’t play ahead of Mitchell and doesn’t have the skills to play ahead of Rubio. Who’s he going to defend at the 3?

Do we think he can give us Klay Thompson like production on the offensive end?

He was probably one of the BPA at 21 but I’m not sure I like this pick

So you don’t believe in drafting best available? Grayson wasn’t my first choice before the draft, but it’s who I wanted as the jazz were on the clock, and if you really did believe in drafting best available then you’d be happy with the pick.

Was Grayson the BPA? You think so? With Okobo still on the board? I think it’s very debatable.

This is my fear. If it weren't for his mentality, I'd love this pick. We need scoring and he can do that. But his extracurricular activities on the court have me worried.

I want to see a poll on this pick. Seems like a lot of fans hate it.

I don’t understand it at all. Character matters. And just because Allen behaved his senior year doesn’t mean the character flaws aren’t there.

I promise he wasn't BPA. Would've rather drafted Robert Williams because you could probably at least trade him.

The upside of this pick is I have no problem attaching it to Alec Burks to clear the salary. That is actually the silver lining for me.

I agree with you. I think it’s very debatable that he was even the BPA. Okobo could’ve been. And he fit a need. I’d personally rather see Okobo come in off the bench and in time replace Rubio than see Allen play... when?

I stated many times I wasn’t that impressed with him and the way the draft is going teams weren’t all that impressed either or he’d have been picked long ago, right?

Ok. I’m glad you feel that way. But there’s hardly a consensus on this board that Allen was the BPA. Okobo easily could’ve been and he fit a need.

When’s Allen going to play? We have a logjam at the 3. He doesn’t have PG skills to backup Rubio. So is he going to spot donovon 5 mins per game? Is that a wise pick?

Plus, who’s he going to defend?

His age is also a concern. How much of a ceiling does he have?

Was he one of the BPA at 21? Maybe. Was he the best prospect? Hell no, and I don’t think it’s even close to being debatable

Okobo is a lot younger, longer, and plays a position.

But yeah, just grab Delly 2.0 and call it a night. And would everyone please forget that this pick had value at one point? Thanks.
