Color me not impressed by Evans. He barely shot over 40% from the field last year and under 30% from three. Perhaps it's a good trade to then parlay mid-season into something more, but long-term, no thanks. He can't run a team and can't shoot like a swing really needs to in today's NBA. Maybe I'm wrong and he could evolve into a Wade-type two but um, yeah, I doubt it.
I'm not saying I wouldn't do it but man, I wouldn't be thrilled about it. How effective are Harris, Evans and Jefferson without the ball?
Personally, I'd rate Evans in the top 5 of the entire NBA as a driver. Pretty close to unguardable first step and a nifty ability to finish in traffic. As a talent, I'd love to get him. But there are two problems: 1) He needs the right offense and 2) His head. You worry about a guy who drove 120 miles an hour on the freeway with police chasing him for FUN. I'm actually pretty forgiving of immaturity in 20 year old multimillionaires, but I wonder how forgiving KOC is.
Yeah, I guess to dump those buttnutts, get a hell of an athletic 20 year old talent in Evans, and the #7 pick is a no-brainer. Personally, I'd love Biyombo there and BPA at #12. Either way, we'd have a hell of a lot of assets with contracts that aren't killers.
Harris, Evans, Hayward, Jefferson, Favors, Biyombo, #12 pick, GS pick. Mna, I guess that's a lot to get excited about.
Fixed.
