Jazz Free Agency Summer of 2018

I really hope this happens and Dante gets something borderline silly just to see the meltdowns

You want something bad to happen to your favorite team so you can see random anonymous internet posters get upset? You are a strange duck.

Article yesterday said $24+ without dumping Burks and I have read others that say more. What am I missing? Couldn't we use the space like Dallas then sign the fillers?

Doesn't really matter. We aren't just dropping all those guys for a shot at LBJ, Gordon, etc.

The problem is that you get rid of half of your roster in such a maneuver and the league has provisions that requires you to keep capholds for minimum of 12 players. So when you drop your roster to 7 players you need to add capholds for roster spots 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 at the minimum league salary for the year(about 840K this year). So that eats up 3-4 more million of your capspace. Also, I don't know what calculations they are using, so I cannot comment on that. I gave you the calculations with the salaries to the dollar above.

So Paul is now getting 40 per.

I can only wonder how much they're going to have to give Harden after next year.

And they'll still be on the hook for 21 mil with Ryan Anderson, lolololol

Jesus.
Makes the jazz contracts all look way better. I’m so happy we don’t have a horrendous contract on the roster.

Back of the napkin math tells me OKC’s payroll will be about 10 billion this year.

Lol. Post of the week. I laughed pretty hard.

The trickiest part of Exum's deal is that offering him $7, he may choose to just wait out the market, handicapping the Jazz, and end up taking his QO of like $5 million and betting on himself to get paid next summer unrestricted.

Good point. That would suck. Would probably sour some fans on him a little.

Houston and Portland got worse. Denver blew a bunch of money, OKC is paying 300 million for the same team as last year and Lakers have yet to accomplish anything.

It’s been a fantastic free agency for Utah so far and we haven’t don’t anything lol.

Agreed but what happened to Portland?
