Greg Miller: “Injuries killed us last year, we need to be more durable” – meaning no Kanter?

Risk what? They guys knees checked out just fine. Oden and Roy were totally different. Portland knew there was a risk with both, but chose to ignore it. In Roy's case it was worth it for a few years, and in Oden's they simply screwed the pooch. From the sound of things, drafting Kanter poses the same risk (medical wise) as any other player in this draft.

Well if you're talking injury in the Knight vs Kanter discussion - I think you'd have to say that Knight would have the upper hand on that one.

I can't agree with you or disagree. If you can provide any reliable sources that explain Kanter's injury-riddled past, then I can form an opinion.

That's what I thought at first. But then let's look at the Jazz's history of injuries:

- Boozer missed 138 games (28%)
- Kirilenko missed 115 games (23%)
- Memo missed 69 games last season alone

These are all bigs as well.

I don't know if they can ignore Kanter's injury plagued past.

Please expound.

In regards to Kanter's "injuries" I think it's hard to tell. It doesn't seem like there's a clear history there. All you can do is let your team doc's put him through a physical and make their best evaluation. I don't put much stock in the Kanter injury rumors at this point. Blake Griffen was healthy as a horse when LA took him #1 overall and then boom, a microfracture. Sometimes it boils down to good/bad luck.

I don't put much stock in the Jazz' team docs. But that's a subject for another thread.

As a result of this I think that the Jazz should avoid having anyone on their team that is taller than 6'8"

OK - I am not to worried about his knees, but I am a little concerned when at an early age a player like Kanter was suffering from back pain. Yes I read this to.
