Can ya feel it? It's a comin. For real.

I'm trying to come up with reasons we won't win the title in two years and honestly there's only a few teams that come to mind as being able to hang with us in the spring of 2020, once we pick up a superstar in 2019.

How about Kawhi? He might want a(nother) ring.

We will win 5 championships in between now and 2020. Book it.

Dante becomes a star, we sign Tobias Harris, and the dynasty begins.

If Dante becomes a star our quest for a big name will be that much easier.

By the end of this season Donovan could be the most popular player in the NBA.

Rudy will get his second DPOY and is a great teammate.

What other teams(that have space) will be as high on the list for a FA to get a ring?

Is Utah still viewed as too small by stars? Unlike the old days, with social media players don't need to wait for press coverage.

I think the advent of social media has drastically changed the marketability of players. Donovan Mitchell has played one year in the league, is already featured in China 2K commercials and is probably a top 15 most recognizable guy.

Gotta trade for Mirotic or Middleton so that we keep bird rights and don't have to renounce Rubio to sign someone next summer. Keeping Ricky is gonna be key for us to take over #1 in the West.

How many would have thought that last January? Ricky is a great fit but would you let him go to bring in Kawhi?

How about this: Toronto loses to Boston in the playoffs and Kawhi, realizing he needs Donovan and Rudy, exercises his right to become a FA, joins the Jazz and we win the 2020 and 2021 Championship against Boston, screwing Haywad out of his ring as he's in his last year with Boston.

No superstar is coming to Utah. I just hope Jazz can keep Donovan happy. Remember when Deron talked about getting players to join him? And he couldn't. Im just guessing, but I'd bet that was the primary reason he wouldn't commit to staying; he knew Utah was just not going to be a contender.

Donovan already tried and failed with Paul George. Not sure if Bjelica was ever a serious recruit by Lindsey or not. But you have to think Mitchell will receive pressure to leave ftom sponsors. Adidas would love to have him in a major market.

I don't disagree but I just don't see how we're going to do it. Who could we trade for them?

Burks + a 1st for either. Throw in any other non-core player to make a multiplayer trade, if you must.

If either team sputters close to the trade deadline, there will be pressure to trade those assets.

But Donovan is not Deron. There's a difference in their personalities. And Rudy is not Carlos. And we have Jingles... etc. This team is lacking any selfish characters. And these are different times from the Deron era. I don't think it's as important for a star to be in a large market to get endorsement contracts. Still important... but not as important. And what about rings?

If Kawhi agrees to at least two years, of course. But that dude longs to be in LA.

I'd love it as much as anyone. But getting Mirotic might be enough on it's own to push the Jazz into the top 3 in both offense and defense.
