I chose Hekate. Don’t like Ellis’ shooting. I like Hekate’s clearcut killer three point shooter in Miller as well as another guy who could be lethal from there and was also capable of hitting big-time shots in Pierce. I’m really not a big Drexler fan and as great as Pippen was, he wasn’t some assasin. And I think Kidd could slow down Nash a bit but not vice versa.

Extremely tough choice.

While Ben Wallace was great defender he would be no match for prime Sabonis. Bench is winning this for Hekate.

It's close, but I'd pick Ellis Team to take the whole thing. Outstanding in every aspect of the game. Inside, outside, transition, half court, rebounding, hustle.

In this matchup, they are faster at every position, without sacrificing toughness. This translates into better percentage shots and more possessions. The other team has great shooters, but every shot will be contested, and they will tire before the game is over.

Speed doesn't correlate to defense. It's a tool Drexler had but he rarely used it on defense. My team has better half-court offense and players that can play off-ball as well as on-ball.

Putting Moses Malone at PF is almost enough to vote against.

Having an agility disadvantage at 4 or 5 positions for the entire game does not give you an advantage in the half court. Your entire team will be a step slow on every play. Looks good on paper, but it wouldn't work as well as you think, not on offense, not on defense, not for rebounding, and not for getting loose balls. You can't cover Olijuwan one on one in the half court, and he's incredible rebounders and three point shooters to compliment him. You'll always have 4 guys on the floor who are each meant to be the primary focus but are slow footed and don't have complimentary teammates. Kidds talents will be wasted. He won't want to come out of the locker room after he spends the entire first half getting dunked on in 3 on 1 fast breaks.

This is not a regular season game. Transition plays, fast-breaks plummet during the playoffs. The game slows down and it suits me better. I have very good passers in Sabonis and Duncan who can create very well in a half court setting. I have good shooters that can create their own offense. Pierce is better than Drexler in a half court setting by a mile. Shaq is a monster and I don't really need to talk about him.

The best playoff teams in the history of the game had speed and agility and got out on the break for easy buckets. You've got a fast break point guard with a poor outside shot when he was in his prime, and no one to run with him and compliment his skills. Nash is quicker, one of the best 3 point shooters ever, and more creative in the half court. His team will match up with you in the half court just fine. Good passers need people who are open to pass to. Your guys aren't going to be open as much. Quickness is important for every aspect of the game, offense, defense, rebounding, loose balls, not just fast breaks.

It's going to be hard to play good half court defense playing 4 on 5 while your center or PF are lumbering back at half court.

and Pippin is by far the best wing defender on either squad. He will shut down Pierce and Stoya.

Are you saying that prime Shaq, Sabonis, Marion, Duncan or Pierce could not run?

Yeah, we have seen that with Westbrook and Derozan and how their up and down the court speed helped them beat playoff teams. They are great regular season teams and ineffective playoff players.

Oh, Westbrook played against what you would consider lumbering PF and C in Gobert and Favors. Derozan was against washed up Love and Tristan Thompson.

Marion might not even see PT in this series. The other 4 in their prime were not as agile in the half court or as quick getting up and down the court as the guys they match up with in this series. Sabonis's prime is hypothetical, it's a bit of a stretch to have him in this at all.

Westbrook and Derozen aren't on either team. Let's consider then whether the Warriors style of play can win in the playoffs, or for that matter the 80s Lakers or the 90s Bulls.

Westbrook lost because the Jazz team was quicker than Westbrook's team. The Jazz lost in the next round because Houston was quicker.
