What's new

Let me do a FAVORs and do a non-draft thread.

Do you guys think that Utah asked for Brook Lopez in the Dwill trade or just asked for Favors? I was just thinking about that as I was reading this.

they wouldnt give lopez anyway, but actually i would prefer Favors. He has potential to be better than lopez. Lopez- Jefferson would not be such a complimenting couple on the front court

Viola. Your non-draft thread just became a draft thread, Duck. Hottnickkk would have been awarded extra credit if he hadn't missed an obvious opportunity to interject Biyombo, and he loses points for forgetting the current site rule that requires that Ferdetter be mentioned in every post.

Don't mean to carry this on in a thread titled non-draft thread. But editing highlights of Favors just makes me want Biyombo more. The idea of having a Favors and Biyombo in our frontcourt to come off the bench next year would be downright scary for opposing teams. I think Favors can score quite efficiently he just needs more opportunity. Biyombo can score near the basket as centers do, that's really all we would need to ask for him offensively. Defensively it would be ridiculous how good we could be.

I really have no feel for who Favors compares to yet because I have no idea what his offensive game is going to look like. What I like is the fact he's putting up those numbers on sheer athleticism. He flashes the occasional spin step to the bucket, I've seen him make 14 foot jumpshots. I like the Howard comparison because I think his development is going be refining a power inside game as his body matures. At some point he's going to have a moment on the court when he realizes he's just bigger and faster than most guys he plays against. So he can be very good just rebounding and making himself available on slips to the bucket.

I worry about his skill. I've read that the Jazz want to get proactive in coaching up his post game, but with the lockout they may not be able to. So they need to impress upon him the importance of not just lifting weights this summer. Get a Big Man coach. At the very least, work out with Al. He can learn a ton about footwork and post moves just studying Al.

Well i would go into detail about the comparisons but i just cant get over how cute Howards smile is compared to favors.

Case closed for me

Favors won't be as dominant defensively as Howard or as good offensively as Amare IMO.. I can see a little of both in him though.
Agree, don't like the Dwight/Amare comparisons...heard a comparison to a late-90's Antonio McDyess back in the spring...in a year or two I could see him becoming a more efficient Jermaine O'Neal.
