Which is proven by the fact that Knight won't work out with Walker or Jimmer. Yea, he's not avoiding them.... but he might hurt himself by refusing.
Teams head offices know the agents are involved, but they also may go another route if they have concerns that a player is either hiding something, or not confident enough to show what they have. If I was deciding between two supposedly equal players and one would take a challenge head on, and the other would avoid it... I would go with the one that attacked the challenge. It shows character... and the Jazz and possibly other teams are big on character.
On the flip side if that player is definitely better than the other players by a long shot it will be overlooked. If the player is only a little better in their eyes... it could be a toss up. It's risky for Knight no matter what he does. If he avoids them he might drop, if he takes them on and looks bad he might drop. My opinion is that avoiding is the worse of the two decisions, but I do understand the logic.

If you guys think the Jazz care at all if Knight goes against Jimmer then you are crazy. And if you think Jimmer would own a bigger, more athletic, quicker guard that played in the ACC in stead of the MWC, then you are crazy again. What if Knight goes against Jimmer, Jimmer becomes all frustrated and zoobish and then knocks out Knight's knee? Or what if Jimmer pulls a sweet crossover and literally breaks one of Knight's ankles? Knight has nothing to gain from working out against anybody. Whether Utah takes him or not, he will be drafted 3, 4, or 5, no matter what Jimmer does.
So, why would Knight work out against Jimmer? What does he have to prove, and do you honestly think Utah cares? Come on people.

How come your Kentucky kids don't want to come to Utah? First there was the Kanter where do you want to Play? He answers Clevland, Minnesota, Washington--but not Utah. Stood up the Jazz interview forcing Jazz to arrange a 'secret' workout in Chicago just to save face. He wouldn't work out in Utah and wouldn't work out against anyone. But he has traveled to Cleveland & Minny to work out against competition.

apparently he doesn't think Utah is a 'good fit' for him because they already have Harris. Like Harris is somekind of all-pro who Knight couldn't beat out--hard to believe that a guy who is supposed to be the next John Stockton, derrick rose, Chris Paul and Tyreke Evans all in one, is concerned about beating out Devin, I guess I'm supposed to be a leader, Harris.

As I understand it, these reports are simply not true. Kanter never blew off Utah (nor was it about the language issue that was reported). Knight has said, behind closed doors, that he was really feeling the love from a 'couple teams' more so than the others. Knight's a good kid, I think he wants so badly to go to the team that 'really' needs him that it trumps (for him) what position he's drafted. I feel the tight-lippedness of the Jazz brass (though I totally agree with keeping things quiet) has Knight feeling other teams 'want' him more.
Cal really does do a good job of mentoring these kids, giving them good advice, and preparing them for the process ahead ... read between the lines and see who Cal, publicly, compared these two players to. Calipari is a true master at utilizing the media to get a message through. Most times subtle, but it's always there. Cal really is saying, "Hey Utah Jazz fans, you won't be disappointed with either of these two players with your third pick" .. trying to create some two-way warm and fuzzies.
GUARANTEE you Knight doesn't care where he goes, except he wants a good fit with the FO, teammates, and fans.

I know. I just get on and see someone say something remarkably dumb and can't help myself.
I think Knight would be fine going to Utah but there are a few places that don't have a solid starting PG (i.e. Sactown). In the top 7 Sactown, Toronto and possibly Utah could use a young PG, but Sactown is the one team in the top 7 that really needs a PG.
Personally, I like Knight but I still think he needs some time to develop. I still see him more as a undersize SG/PG. I wouldn't pick him at 3 but if the Jazz were to move down I would be ok with picking him at 5 or 6.

My bad. Still, it is pointless for Knight to go against Jimmer, and not going against Jimmer does not raise a single red flag.

What ever happened to WANTING to face competition? If I were Knight, I'd love for the chance to compete against Jimmer, Walker, Dwill, Drose, Westbrook, Lebron, and anyone else who dared get in my way.
