I think Favs was signed as a placeholder and trade asset that might workout long term. Based on other signings and picks I think it’s clear it likely isn’t a long term partnership. DL knows all the lineup data and then some so he knows how could we are with stretch 4s.

I think we poke around some stuff in trades but then look at some of the B+/ A- free agents. Zach Lowe basically said we are looking arhat tier of player... Middleton, Harris, Niko

We can place calls to the super duper stars (and we likely will) but I doubt that call gets very far and that’s the end of it.

If OP Jr., Tobias Harris, Middleton (I highly doubt this one), or Love become available at a decent/discounted price then I can see us being more aggressive.

Give the current arrangement 4-6 weeks... let the sauce marinate.

Not yet... it’s year 3. He’s very good early on that rookie deal.

Could go after Rozier but I’m not sold on Scary Terry.
 
Or we trade Favors and Burks to Charlotte at the deadline for Marvin Williams, Kidd-Gilchrist and a good pick. They pretty much have the same contracts but one year more. Marvin and MKG might actually fit.

Go crazy in 2020 free agency (Marvin, MKG, and Crowder all come off).

BTW @LoPo i hope you are ready for trade season... our roster is the trade machines best friend... so many expiring contracts of varying sizes... we can make almost any trade match salaries easily. We may have to have a separate site setup for discussions or expand the server size.

I don’t think we do a trade like this until after we’ve talked to free agents this offseason... with FA you need a couple chances to get a guy.

I finally found a trade of yours that would
Work and that is Rozier. Boston dif will trade him and I think it's a case he would want to come because he wants to play and not be on the bench like in Boston. I even like the pairing bball wise Mitchell and maybe Donovan can sell him on Utah. So pat yourself on the back for finally coming up with a great trade idea. Not only that but you move into being one of the better trade ideas on the whole site.congrats.

I like the idea of Rozier, but I don't think we have what Boston wants in a trade. They don't have an albatross contract they want to move (unless it's Hayward lol). So our expirings don't have much value to Boston. I don't think they would want a 1st in place of Rozier since Rozier helps them win right now.

I think Rozier is a target for the summer should Rubio not pan out.
