Proposed Rollback of Transgender Protections

Again, this isn't just a problem with right or left wing wackos. Elected GOP officials are encouraging this type of thing (intentionally or not) by using running ads like this.

What's the intended consequence from this type of vitriol?

Scaring voters into voting for them I'd imagine. Soros fits that 'evil globalist pulling strings from behind the scenes' archetype that the right wing likes to trot out around election time.

I put "to a certain degree" meaning I don't think Trump has ever encouraged mailing pipe bombs to those who recieved them or am I missing something?

He definitely encourages idiots though.
That's fair enough. But it's worth pointing out you didn't use that same kind of minimizing language when talking about the left.

A botanist? No.

I do have a degree in Crop Science, was fairly close to a minor in plant pathology. I’d like to think I know a little more than the average person when it comes to crops, pesticides, and their mode of actions.

Oh and btw, it’s Roundup Ready. Get the name right. I do not use any Roundup Ready crops, do not work for Monsanto, have never worked for Monsanto, and am far from a corporate shill.

That's the brand name and the important ingredient is glyphosate. By the way, I had a running debate with a PhD in Botany from the U of Fl who was a shill for Monsanto and was exposed by the NY Times. So tell me what you know that makes you think glyphosate is harmless when most of the scientists in Europe don't agree? You mean that glyphosate and other pesticides to which GMOs are bred to withstand don't kill all other life forms in the soil and destroy the topsoil? Guess you're one of those who think that organic farming is a crock? If you don't, then you shouldn't be calling me stupid.

I was talking about the president not the left.

I can provide plenty of examples of the left and right (members of those parties) encouraging some pretty nasty, hateful, violent and sickening ****.

Wow. Somebody just filled "Monsanto stooge" on their BS Bingo card.

Not sure I understand your comment. Who is the stooge for Monsanto -- certainly not me. RandyforRubio claims to be a farmer who has studied Botany; a lot of farmers do use Roundup and Monsanto seeds -- he said he doesn't, so I don't understand why he's calling me stupid if he doesn't use it. It's really puzzling and discouraging that so many people on this site start calling people names over topics they know little about, not to say he doesn't know anything but before he starts calling names, he should explain why my comment is stupid. It gets tiresome to have to deal with it. It's either I stop posting or start reporting people to the mods.

1) It’s Roundup Ready, not Ready Roundup. Believe me, I know the brand name, and I’m quite familiar with glyphosate.

2) I can tell you if Roundup did kill all activity in the soil, we wouldn’t have nearly as many soil pathogens (diseases caused by pathogens in the soil) as we do.

3) How, exactly, does Roundup destroy the top soil? Because I’ve been using Roundup for decades, and my soil health keeps on increasing. So that doesn’t quite add up.

4) I don’t think organic is a complete crock. I know the majority of what is labeled as organic is not actually organic, but it’s fine as a niche in agriculture. You could never replace all of conventional agriculture with organic.

Right. My degree, and many years in the field means I know little about the subject compared to you. You, who can’t distinguish between Roundup Ready (a gene inputted into crops) and Roundup (a chemical). Yes, you’re quite brilliant.

For your sake, I will repeat. I do not use Roundup Ready crops, I do use Roundup.

Idiot.

However, among the leaders of the political parties (as opposed to some random members), Trump stands almost alone in such encouragement (there are a couple of other Republicans).

You’re right.

The funny thing about Soros, isn’t he 93 or 94 years old? Yet, somehow he’s at the top of his cognitive game apparently. He’s never been so influential!

Why do you have to be such an a-hole? To be honest, I didn't know there was a difference between the two. It's really a matter of semantics, in any case. The point is that Roundup Ready crops are the GMO crops that withstand the Roundup or the glyphosate in them. You say your soil is fine. But that isn't what I've read about GMOs and the soil. The thing is that now we are realizing that a lot of pathogens are actually good for us -- beneficial bacteria and harmful bacteria. The theory that I was exposed to says that the Roundup kills both the good and bad and actually erodes the topsoil. You say that isn't true?
