not in a good way with his 35 shot zero assist effort. He got brutalized on Yahoo Sports. Holy Freeman Williams.

One of the most selfish players I have
ever seen. Is he playing for his personal stats ~ average point per game ? He was so desperate to score big that he
chucked up 35 shot attempts at very low %. Disgraceful.

He can claim temporary possession by the ghost of Allen Iverson.

I think sometimes we forget Donovan is a young guy and like most young guys caught up in the moment he thinks that taking personal ownership is tantamount to doing everything yourself.

If Mitchell was of a different character I'd be concerned and waiting for the inevitable finger pointing because, you know, "I really, really want to win" (see Jimmy Butler) but I think we can look at last night as an aberration from someone who wouldn't accept mediocrity and just went about it in an extreme way.

Do you actually watch the games, or do you just view Donovan as an existential threat to your Simmons fandom?

Yeah, he should be more like Simmons in the playoffs and get 1 point and sit in the 4th quarter.

At least simmons is an unselfish player who plays for the team. The fact that Donovan had 35 shots attempt and zero assist tells you that he played for his point average, not for the team.

Would love to see your jock-riding in an alternate universe where Bill Simmons was an American and Donovan was an Aussie.

Yeah, there are lots of unselfish players that sit on the bench in the playoffs in the fourth quarter waving a towel to support their team unselfishly.

Donovan took the shots he was supposed to for the most part. When you are the primary responsibility for scoring on your team you have to shoot a lot. I wish more of them went in. I wish the guys he passed to like Ingles at the end of the game would have made their shots as well so he would have had more assists. oh well.

I enjoyed seeing him shoot it 35 times. He’s done a poor job at asserting himself in the offense more. Obviously, I’d have liked to see put up at a minimum of 40 points on 35 shots. Things need to be ironed out, he needs to stop doing kamikaze drives into the paint where he’s forced to take ridiculously looking prayers for shots, and find other shots. I just want to see him play smarter and more aggressive. He’s going to be dangerous when he figures out the nba game.

Teammates playing better would be a good start to helping remedy this.

Stop making up lame excuses for the selfish chucker.
Mitchell is a compulsive chucker. That is all he does.
When his shooting is off, He has nothing to fall back to. Apart from his (often woeful) shooting he does not contribute anything else for his team. He does not play defense, and does not look for his team mates for easier shots as demonstrated by his 35 shots 0 assist effort.

Wrong again.

Yep, seems as though bringing everyone back was a bit of a mistake. Next year Favors and Rubio need to be gone, put Mitchell at pg sign Harris, sign a sg or start O’Neale, and hope Bradley is ready to get min at the backup 5.

One of the things that bothers me about Quin is that he tends to discard guys that don't fit his mold rather quickly. How would the Jazz like to have a two guard averaging over 30 a game and shooting 47% from 3? How about a point guard that dropped 50 points or another one that dropped 33 on the Nuggets in preseason. How about the leading scorer in China? How about two big players that were players of the month for their leagues in Europe? All of these guys were Jazz property at one time and Quin viewed them as suspects. The answers in order are Kevin Murphy, Derrick Rose, Bryce Cotton, Pierre Jackson, Jack Cooley and Brock Motum. Instead we have the hot mess we are dealing with.
