This team needs a makeover

I hope DL can turn it around. Teams are outrunning the Jazz and they need to readjust quick. Shots aren’t falling, the hustle isn’t the same, the defense has regressed, and on top of that The Don isn’t at 100%

The Jazz stood pat this last offseason hoping that we’d pick up where we left at the end of last season. The NBA is moving quicker than our FO is.

What to do? I always try to stay positive but I don’t see a way out in the short term!

Not **** can happen until January 15th when Exum and Favors become trade eligible.

Before that I don't see a lot of available moves. Maybe trade for Korver?

If we could steal away someone from washington MINUS wall I would be okay with that. A combo of Exum, Burks, and/or Neto

You can't be serious. So make this middling team even worse?! Bring in Korver!? Wow.
Ehh, I think Korver could really help. Just having someone the other team couldn't leave would do wonders for Gobert. Even if he could only give 10 mpg, it'd give Snyder some shooting options.

Just watch whenever he runs a PNR with Ingles. Rubio/Exum/ONeale's defenders play free safety on Gobert in the paint and make throwing lobs to him incredibly difficult.

Have you seen how terrible this team is at shooting? At least Korver could knock down some 3's and help our spacing on offense.

I just wish Dennis Lindsey was a little more aggressive. It feels like every year I keep waiting for him to make some major move and it just never happens. Just in listening to his interviews you can tell he's a very calm, patient person, I wish he had a little of Quin's intensity.

Exum is ironically the biggest trade chip that the Jazz would probably be willing to part with to be honest. I don't see them moving on from Gobert/Mitchell/Ingles/Crowder and I think out of Exum or Rubio, Exum's contract provides more value than Ricky's expiring.

Exum to Phoenix makes sense for Phoenix but I have no idea what they would realistically give back. Maybe they throw Jackson in with Ariza or something but then we're down to Neto as a backup PG and the offense still has no one who can create beside Mitchell.

Exum/Favors/filler for Wall was another idea that my mates and I have floated around. Wasn't a big fan of it as even if the Jazz get all star engaged who can't party every night in SLC John Wall instead of whatever the **** he is now, I'm not sure he's a great fit beside Mitchell considering how little him and Beal were able to co-exist. I don't think the Jazz have enough to get the Wizards to part from Beal either.

Magic rolling the dice on him + Favors + whatever else (Allen maybe and at least a first) for Aaron Gordon if their season nose dives by the deadline and they want to see what they have in the Isaac/Bamba frontcourt could be an option but even then I think they trade Vucevic for a PG somewhere and keep Gordon/Isaac/Bamba as their big guy rotation.

Maaaaaaaaaybe the Bulls might want to part with Kris Dunn for Exum but I doubt it without extra incentives (maybe Exum + a protected 1st for Dunn and Holiday)

Exum + Favors for D'Angelo Russell maybe?

idk it's hard to think of a reasonable trade involving Exum tbh, but I'm convinced that he's the guy the Jazz will move if they make any sort of move for sure. Favors being included in the deal or done in a separate deal might happen but I think the Jazz are more inclined to keep him if they can and just play him more backup 5 minutes if they can.

edit: Exum is also the guy who's probably the worst fit in Quin's system, as I think if Exum has any consistent skills as an offensive player in the NBA it will be in a fast paced offense. Jazz being able to slow it down again by removing him and putting in a PG that doesn't mind playing slower makes sense too.

Any trade value Exum had is rapidly tanking. I would assume Allen has more value.

I think there are bad teams that would be willing to take a punt on him and his 3 year deal tbh. But yeah I kinda forgot about Allen until the end of the post, but I would still argue that Exum is a slightly more valuable trade asset, particularly with how bad Allen has looked too in his limited minutes.

If Bazemore's contract wasn't so horrendous something like Exum for Lin + Bazemore would make sense too as Exum helps them well on the way to getting Zion while Lin would be a solid backup option for the Jazz and Bazemore gives them another flexible wing.

wish they didnt even pick em, i was rly against that pick after watching him in international comp. was clear he wasn't going to be the next kobe, but rob pelinka hyped him up hard.

blame Quin for not getting the best out of him. Dante has all the tools to be a star in the nba
