Dennis Lindsey's Biggest Error

Corbin is blameless. He did OK with what he had, which was not much.
Did I blame Corbin in that post? All I'm saying is he didn't do anything to merit his immediate extension. Per every story I've heard, the reason he got the job in the first place was simply because he was around.

On February 28 2014 the jazz lost to the tanking Cavilers by 20 points. Trey Burke had an efg of 22%. His back ups were Diantee Garrett and John Lucas III.

But just one day earlier Lindsey made his biggest mistake when he didn't claim Jimmer Freddette off waivers.

I consider them picking up guys like Ingles, O'Neale, etc. part of the draft/scouting process... our biggest actual free agent pickup with DL as GM is Thabo. I'd say that's pretty damn bad.

JJ was important for a year. Ingles was a free agent find.... can’t classify him as a draft guy. Booker was a solid addition... the Jonas, Thabo, Ekpe fallback after Hayward bailed was decent work given constraints. He hasn’t had the long term addition success outside of Joe.

I would classify it more as misuse of cap assets. He kept the powder dry and then wouldn’t pull the trigger on anything. Was going to keep the flexibility to use in an extension for Hill then that feel through.

To his credit he didn’t make the Ian Mahinmi mistake... I’ll give him a C in free agency because he’s avoided catastrophe and given us solid role players from time to time.

Look I think he’s a top 5-10 GM and a great fit for us... he’s had some blind spots and defecincies but overall I think he’s got vision and direction. I think waiting for free agency of good deals come along is a mistake... I don’t know what will come up. If he can get a guy like OP jr. or Tim Hardaway or Gallo now and keep open a good amount of cap space for the summer I think he should do it. Banking on landing a FA whale could really backfire.

Finally someone has a rational thought in this thread.

****ing bull ****.

Millsap hate around here sure has some die hards. Does it ever cross any of your undersized(tm) minds that he has arguably been the Jazz's best pick since 2006? Of course it hasn't.
Man I wanted the jazz to keep Millsap so bad. He has been my favorite post finals jazz player, him and AK

I'd rank the picks following:

1. Gobert
2. Mitchell
3. Hayward
4. Millsap

He was so good for the team. Really miss the guy.

For starters, your point is some flailing non-sense about how Favors and Millsap are an apples vs. oranges conversation. Millsap is better. He is, he almost always has been. He's always been much more skilled than Favors.

How does is shooting an eFG% of 50% on 3s equal to or worse than what Favors provides - jack ****ing squat?

What stat would you like to use to prove Paul Millsap is significantly better than Derrick Favors?

Lifetime stats:

PER (Millsap/Favors)
19.1/18.7

TS% (Millsap/Favors)
0.558/0.553

Rebounds per36
9.1/9.9

It sucks because the NBA has changed to the point where favors and Millsap would have been a decent front court together. That's saying nothing of Gobert too.

Yeah, but I'm saying if they tanked earlier, the fruits could have been Anthony Davis/Kyrie Irving.

They should have shipped everyone who could help win games that wasnt young out when D-Will was traded. That's Millsap/AK/Reroute Devin Harris/Jefferson/Miles/Bell.

I know that's hindsight, but pretty much everyone knew a team based around Jefferson was a dead end and they were bringing in vets like Josh Howard for soem reason.
Should have fired Corbin earlier too. But that's not on Dennis anyhow. Man the jazz just tanked at the complete wrong time. Thank God for Rudy and Donovan.

That's some BS though. Ingles was a free agent, Royce was a free agent. You can't reclassify these things to the draft.

I was more just stating it for everyone because he gets dumped on too much imo
