Any move that puts Hayward with significant minutes at SF gets a no from me...

He can outmatch other SGs when defending because of his length and I believe he is quick enough running around chasing SGs...

...but he will be physically outmatched by other SFs (LeBron, Carmelo, Pierce, Marion, etc, etc)

Yes. you definitely "get it." KOC has stated he likes players who create mismatches. Hayward does that at SG. So will Favors over a lot of PF's. That's one reason I would not completely discount the rumors regarding Millsap, nor about the Jazz liking Vesely. Millsap was a Sloan favorite. KOC is more cold-hearted. His job is to improve the team and I think he sees a young guy ready for starter's minutes and an undersized player sitting in the way. It's not unlike the situation with Rickey Green and John Stockton. Green was just a couple of seasons removed from the all-star game when he was replaced by Stockton as a starter.

I like Millsap. But there's no question he's at a disadvantage against most starting PF's. I'd like Paul to embrace the role he had before...as a Super Sub. There's no doubt he'd get almost as many minutes and he could simply abuse backups. He'd be a definite contender for the 6th man award.

And if the Jazz think Vesely can defend the 3, he has to be in the mix for our draft pick. Draft Kanter at 3, then let Cleveland or Washington pick Vesely and give us a later pick for swapping draft rights.

Wow.

James Harden is really really good. To deny us getting him because you want Hayward to be a mismatch at the 2 (height isn't really that big of mismatch for guards, its not as big of a deal as low post players) is ridiculous to me. A Hayward-Harden wing combo would be great.

So if we trade Millsap for Kobe you say no? How about for Wade? Harden is far better than Hayward right now. And is probably already better than Hayward will ever be. Not making a trade to protect an inferior player is just plain stupid.

Sam Presti values team chemistry and OKC is clearly high on Perkins for his toughness and leadership, so why would they trade him away for a perennial loser (not calling Al a loser, just that he has rarely experienced winning - or the playoffs) who would be another ball-stopper when they already have problems with Westbrook deferring to Durant? And why would they include the one good thing to come out of the WCF - the emergence of James Harden into a bigtime scorer? I don't get it.

Well how realistic is that though? It would probably have to be:

Millsap + Hayward + future 1st round pick for Kobe/Wade.

Or

Millsap + Favors + future 1st round pick for Kobe/Wade.

But would you be willing to do either of that?

Considering Hayward is already a solid up and coming SG who is a good fit for our system, I don't think there's a need to do any of those trades....

Wait...what? Not that Wade in SLC would ever happen - Wade would strangle Pat Riley with LeBron's headband first, but seriously?

I would do it or for Ibaka straight up, but OKC wouldn't. Unless they love Kanter (which makes some sense).

I understood the context - I was just suprised a Jazz fan wouldn't trade Hayward, Millsap, and a future first for Dwayne Wade.
I wouldn't. I hate Wade. And he would hate Salt Lake. I want no part of any of the "Decision" guys. I want no part of any players who have placed themselves above teams or coaches and have dictated where they "must" go/stay and/or have had a major say in a coach being hired or fired.
