Jazz considering Jonas Valanciunas at #3

If Kanter can play good defense, I'm all for taking him. The only problem is, there is nearly zero game footage of him against real competition to see his defensive abilities/effort. I just have a fear that he is going to a Boozer/Jefferson-esque defender. It's hard for me to really give an opinion on how he will be in the NBA because of this. He could be a complete bust, a good player, or potentially an All-Star.

I agree. I'd take him #3 .. but I admit I'm reaching a bit based on my own opinion he's an average defender.

Got a link? Rhetorical ... because, as I've said before, this is DEAD wrong. What is your source of your misinformation? I think it's just a romatically-inspired assumption that Enes would want to return to Turkey (born in Switzerland, btw) ... when he was only a few months from an NBA draft .. really? He left Turkey because he didn't want to get locked into a contract .. he wants to be in the NBA.

do u think u know all about kanter ? He was born in switzerland n came back to turkey at the age of 3. He is pure turkish, his language , culture n everythng. Just what i see from his interviews, he seems like a naive guy and he may be easily manipulated by people. I support he wants to be in nba but it would have been better if he played 1 year of competitive basketball in europe instead of assistant coach in UK.
Only thing i agree with u about why he left turkey is, his club offered him a very long and astronomical contract. Like 5 yrs , 20 million dollar smthng and its a huge contract in europe, especially for a 16 yrs old guy.
If u watch that interview i shared in the link above, u may see his pointview was completely opposite from where he currently is right now

(And i prefer him to play in any team in nba rather than Turkey, there were campaigns in Turkey called ' Free Enes' to help him play in ncaa and go away from his club in Turkey)

As I've said before, we agree on most things re: Kanter. However, you cannot simply have hindsight .. look;

- Kanter left Turkey to come play one year of prep ball, one year of college ball, and then the NBA.
- His family felt that did everything necessary to protect his amateur status to accomplish the above.
- He played a year of HS ball.
- He committed to play for the Washington Huskies.
- He changed his mind and decided to play for UK.
- His eligibility was challenged by the NCAA (and even Mark Emmert said, publicly - initially - that he thought Enes would be cleared to play with a small suspension).
- He lost his case.
- Case was appealed.
- Case was lost.
- Kanter was asked publicly what he wanted to do. He said, I wanted to play bb for the Univ. of Kentucky, but now that I can't, I want to finish out my year, helping out my teammates anyway I can, and then enter the NBA draft.

I have seen Kanter, in MANY conversations, express his love for Turkey and his life/experiences there. He's represented your country very well. I just think he came here with an idea, it didn't work, and had to establish a plan 'b.' That plan was to sit tight and wait for the draft .. and while doing so, workout with UK bigs and stay in shape at a state-of-the-art practice facility.

^^^^^^^

Seriously, Do you have a complex?

Think about this, Box (and I'm not being a smart***). I have this 'thing' for facts. I don't mind speculation (I do it all the time), I appreciate opinions, but I just have this inner issue when opinions are thrown around as facts. I just like to see them separated, that's all. I'm not trying to make everyone/anyone like me, but I can't help but correct FACTUAL type statements when they're wrong. Is that a complex? Nope, just a pet-peeve.

You do realize that while PKM is on one end of the spectrum, you're on the complete opposite. So basically you're both annoying, but at least he can write lengthy posts and make them seem somewhat intelligent. Meanwhile you're out here saying that Tyler Zeller (whom I actually like btw) is going to be better than Kanter.

So you would rather i write a bunch of stupid **** rather than the little bit a stupid **** i write? It has been said a zillion times already, but kanter has not proven a damn thing, so yes zeller over kanter until proven otherwise. Speaking of annoying, not taking a stance on anything is just that. You and ihave argued in the past about prospects. Remeber our debate on k. Thompson? Where is he projected now? Boom bitch (like that?). Just because i dont write an article everytime i post does not diminish my knowledge of basketball. Kind of sucks writing articles on iphones and ipads which is how i post 95 percent of the time

btw, clearly better is a too strong word. its pretty impossible he will be Clearly better than kanter unless 8-9 bones on kanters legs will be broken and never heal again

It's not impossible at all. There is no guarantee either of these guys will be any good, in which case we would be betting on who sucks less. PER then, or a forum poll.

of course he came with idea, but im telling how he changed his idea so quick in 1 yr. Becuz he was telling completely different things when he was younger, so who incited him in this decision?
I think playing in HS doesnt provide him so much help, he was already above HS level, i wish he could play in ncaa, then he could have been better.
But we will see, he is very young and there isnt much lost yet. Mabe its better for jazz if we pick him and he turn out to be a very good player, cuz otherwise, if he played in ncaa,he could have gone number 1

My point was that at least PKM makes his posts sound intelligent. Yours sound like a 14 year old boy, which is sad because apparently you're in your 20's or 30's. And I do remember our debate on Klay Thompson and I conceded that I did not know enough about him, but that I did not think he would be a good pick for our 12th choice. I still stand by that. At #12, if I have to choose I take Jordan Hamilton over Klay Thompson every day. I don't want you to write an article, I just want you to write somewhat articulate. There's a difference.

Look you dont care for me, neither I for you. You are welcome to ignore me or if you want to sit and call each other names we can do it through PM like 14 year old boys. Cool?
