Klay Thompson at 12?

I'd prefer Singleton, Jimmer, and of course Burks over Thompson. I like Burk's ability to drive to the rim more and find him more versatile. If you want Thompson because of his offense, and lack thereof from defense, just take Jimmer since I have almost as many questions on defense, plus you get a MUCH better ball handler/passer in Jimmer. Singleton's D would be a nice addition to the Jazz and someone who can guard 2 and 3 as a rookie.

Basically, I'd pick three players that could be available @12 over Thompson.

He should be a decent player, a Rip Hamilton, Reggie Miller-type shooter. I'm in the camp that thinks Jordan Hamilton is a better pick though, given that we already have Hayward, and Hamilton has better size and versatility.

Hamilton will be >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thompson.

I concur. It seems clear as day to me, but the mocks disagree. I guess his shot-selection really has people spooked.

They're both good to great shooters .. I just think Jordan's athleticism potentially translates better to the NBA ... and he's a year younger.

I like Klay's shooting but think he could become Almond 2.0

Not very athletic, doesn't play D but lights it up on offense

Disagree, Klay had fabulous assist numbers his last year at Washington State. This was Morris Almond's main fault, and ultimately his undoing. His defense might be bad like MoNuts, but he is a better overall prospect. I think Klay is a little too similar to Gordo to pick, but he will have a better career than the selfish chucker Almond.

I agree. We have our starting SG in Hayward. Thompson would be undersized at the 4, so that would mean moving Hayward back to the 4. Instead of that, just take an equally ranked prospect who is more of a pure SF.

Since when does Hayward play the 4? Singleton and Hamilton aren't that great of prospects compared to Burks (who I think will be the next James Harden/Brandon Roy) or Thompson.

Oops. meant to say 3. It's late!
Looks like Hayward is being developed as the starting 2. Thompson and Hayward would be undersized at the 3. I disagree with your assessment of Singleton. He's not a shooter, but he's an elite defender. Players should not just be judged on PPG. If that were the case, Boozer would be an MVP candidate every year. Favors and Singleton can be all-NBA defenders. Knight is supposed to be pretty good. Hayward showed flashes of at least being an adequate defender. Jefferson would be the weak link, but he's at least a decent shot-blocker. I'd be happy having a guy on the team who's willing to do the dirty work while the rest put up the majority of shots.
