The Fan - 6-20-11 - Interview O'conner, Fredette, Draft History and more

Can't believe they even showed that little bit of Jimmer workout footage. KOC was more relaxed, didn't let much out, but wasn't in hyper defensive mode.

Like the bit about involving a sports psychologist and synergy stats in the evaluation process. I don't think that makes us unique, but I feel better that the process is thorough.

Kevin was actually pretty talkative. I think he tipped his hand, though, when he said BPA, but not necessarily if it's the same position as you drafted earlier. To me that hints at Knight @ #3 and no Jimmer even if he were available at 12.

KOC: "We prepare each year like the mock draft - like being the Chad Ford of the Utah Jazz"

Thought that was funny. LOL.

I thought KOC tipped his hand that they will take Jimmer at 12 -- "I can give you a name at 12," he said, "if he's still there." I think he was hinting at Jimmer because that's about where Jimmer is supposed to be. And with the talk of trades and taking BPA, I think the Jazz might even take both Knight and Jimmer, if they can trade Harris for a good SG or defensive big, or another high pick to take a big.

KOC has never been that obvious. He meant that if someone like Irving or Williams slipped to #12 he'd definitely take them. It was more of a "no duh!" statement then a hint.

If they take two pg's at 3 and 12 without doing it to trade I owe you a very nice steak dinner. No way do they do that.

Perhaps KOC is baiting teams, like SAC, to take him early, so he won;t have to deal with the reprocussions of not taking him when he's there at 12.

KOC sure was smiley and happy in that interview, even joking around with Boler. I have a feeling he has good things prepared for draft night.

Just like if when he said a few years back that if Blake Griffin was available at ~25, we would definitely take him.

Yep. It was like the Best of KOC Comedy Hour. One joke, once yearly. The funniest part is that some people interpreted it as a clue to his draft strategy.

It appears from the interview that we at least know that Chicago offered the 28th & 30th picks for the #3. That's at least a good guess of a substantiated rumor.

That could literally be ANY PLAYER. You guys are pathetic.
