Game Thread - Jazz @ Pistons 5 PM MTN

Donovan is back!
1:50 3 pointer
1:25 trademark driving lay-up
0:55 great pass to Rubio wide open for 3
0:22 stop-and-pop 2

Since we couldn't make a 3 to save our lives (4 of 17), we literally abandoned the thought, scored a million points in the paint, got back in front, and then made 3 of the last 4 3s to put the game away.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I don't see that happening. Last season our struggles early were only because of injuries. There were strong statistical signs pointing to us turning things around if we ever got healthy. And that happened in a big way when we did. This season there is no excuse for how bad we've played other than just not being a very good team. And I don't see any statistical signs of a turnaround.

I think we're like a 45 win team. Maybe. Which would be a 25-17 record from here on out.

Actually this year our early struggles were due to rules changes on defense and the Jazz admittedly took longer than other teams to work the kinks out and truly adjust to how the refs were calling the game. Now the defense has settled back in and you're starting to see the results of that.

It was due to the injuries. And to a lesser extent Mitchell and Rubio getting acclimated to the team. It was clear that we were going to take off after Gobert came back because the team was beginning to gel well and figure things out. Me and Infection both kept saying it. It was clear that we just needed the defensive anchor.

It's not the schedule. It's been really difficult this season but its not why we're losing. We're losing because both our offense AND our defense have declined from where we were last season. Our offense completely disappears at times and unlike last season our defense isn't good enough to carry us to wins anyway. We are going to lose to plenty of really bad teams going down the stretch. The first half of both the Cavs and Pistons games should make that apparent to everyone. When we are playing bad basketball it is REALLY bad basketball.

I just don't see how we go on a run like last year unless we make a major trade or miraculously play like last year with no warning. We look like a borderline playoff team instead of the contenders we expected to be.
Nah, you smoking crack.

Who cares about the 1st half of the Cavs game? They won that game by over 20 points. Those games get easier as the year goes on because those teams give less of a **** the longer the season goes on.

I don't buy that. Everyone had to adjust to the same rules. The Jazz's perimeter D was legit just lazy the first month. It was lazy again in the first quarter of the Pistons. Halfway closeouts and letting players be comfortable. Maybe that was due to fatigue of the road heavy schedule.

I'd like to point out Yams is from the swamps of Florida. He's essentially The Waterboy.

Sure, but I made my post after Ricky missed the 3 and before the free throws. If DM hadn't scored 7 straight points in the last 2 minutes, Detroit wouldn't have been fouling in the last 22 seconds to get the ball back.
Yeah but he missed 1 shot in the entire 4th quarter (a three, the league misses them 65% of the time on average) and you felt the need to make a post calling criticizing him for it. I understand Ricky is the smelly kid for Jazz fans but this is ridiculous.
